Juice Amour located at 1396 Route 7 South, Middlebury, is the brainchild of Sheri Bannister and her father David who strongly believe that healthy food should taste delicious, look beautiful, help you feel amazing and be sustainable by combining the best of today’s knowledge about healthy eating and nutrition with organic, raw and house made products and practices of America’s past. Juices and products are created to introduce people to weight loss and better health using local products that support local farmers and Amour truly has something for everyone. Fresh daily products include 100% fruit and veggie juice, juice cleanses, raw sprouted nut milks, guilt free raw smoothies, gluten and dairy free soups, chia pudding, ACAI and cashew cream jars, organic fruit and veggie salads and raw and organic snacks.
Eating well and making healthy choices is not new to the seventh generation Vermonters, but the concept really took hold for the new business venture about seven years ago when Sheri watched a film called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead written and filmed by Australian Joe Cross who documented his sixty day fast from processed foods to freshly made juices to transform his weight and health. Over a period of a year Cross lost 100 pounds and transformed how people think about juices and their role in creating both mental and physical well-being. “That film was really inspiring,” shared Sheri Bannister “It really makes you think about the benefits to your body of juicing because your body cannot absorb everything in vitamins. Being liquid and fresh, the vitamins from juicing are absorbed instantly by the body.” Not only is fresh best, it contains greater nutritional value than mass produced bottled juice. When you drink a juice from Juice Amour it is tasty and filled with living enzymes, essential minerals, antioxidants and natural antibiotics.
The home base of the business is in Middlebury and the first franchise is opening soon in Rutland and Bannister and her father are delighted to go to work every day. Every time a customer comes in and tries a product, asks questions and makes a decision to increase their knowledge of how to eat and live a healthier life, both of them feel rewarded. With an incredibly approachable staff and an inviting store, Sheri hopes people will come by and try one of their products and more importantly ask about the different programs offered by Juice Amour. Their mission is to use as many local products as possible and make minimal impact on the earth by using glass jars for store products. A $1.00 deposit for the glass jars is included in the price and when they are returned to the store the $1.00 is returned.
Sheri Banister returned to Vermont to raise her children and is also a part of the teaching and marketing landscape of the region. A teacher of marketing at Champlain College, Bannister is also the owner of Spin Creative Advertising Agency. For Bannister, the work ethic, lifestyle and love of nature are the critical components of the life she wants for her children. She is also committed to bringing health, choices and exceptional products to her customers at the home base store in Middlebury or through the newly opening franchises around the region. So come on in and see yet another facet of the Vermont agricultural community where the juices are fresh, the goal is great health and the product and people are made here in Vermont.
