Addison County is a place of proud traditions and one of the most special is the celebration of the links to the land. Farming is not only alive and well, but is thriving! Each year the VUHS FFA holds a Farm & Dairy Day where the parking lot is transformed into a mini farm and students from the local elementary schools and high school are invited to explore equipment, animals and careers associated with agriculture. Lovingly nicknamed, drive your tractor to school day, over a million dollars in farm equipment magically appeared and lined up for the event. Driving them were local farming students who often milk or do barn chores before coming to school each morning. By the end of the day a couple of hundred students had come to see and loved it!
