Top To Bottom: Butch Dupont has 30 years of outstanding service in the Monkton Fire Department. He has been Chief for 18 years. Known as an excellent educator and motivator, Chief Dupont was recognized for his service and dedication to the future of his department with a Life Member designation in the ACFA at their annual meeting. Chief Tony Porter of the Starksboro Volunteer Fire Department is known as a man who can get things done and can “get along with anyone.” Chief Porter joined the Department in 1990 and has proven to be a leader ever since. He is President of the Board of Trustees and a member of the ACFA Arson Investigation Squad. Chief Porter was awarded the 2009 ACFA Francis Shorey Chief of the Year at the associations annual meeting on Wednesday evening 1-20-09. Addison County State Representative Greg Clark reads a resolution passed by unanimous vote in the Vermont General Assembly recognizing the life-long dedication to firefighters and their families by the late and beloved Vergennes Fire Chief Ralph Jackman.
