Beer and wine were available, plus somewhat unusual snacks (deepfried asparagus, for instance), and there were several types of seating in several areas (bar tables, fireside couch) for conversations. Board games were available, for instance mancala, an African game of moving stones around a course of pits whose strategies are said to be more complex than those of chess. Prominent was the suggestion box, for ideas on how to develop the space and its uses. College personnel said staffing the place remains an issue, and no regular hours are expected in the near future.
