I think of those who I have met through the American Legion and the work and efforts of all the Legion Members who started the organizations and have kept our legion going. I think about those I work with today and the pride with which we keep our American Legion in Ludlow active.” Serving his country in the US Coast Guard from 1974-1978, Commander Bowen reflected on the
skills involved with being prepared and never knowing what was coming,” as the skills which have made the greatest impact on his life and helped him during his days at sea during the Blizzard of 1978.
