Marvin M. Barrows

West Ferrisburg - Marvin M. Barrows 82 died Sunday January 28, 2007 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington surrounded by his family.

    He was born January 21, 1925 in Ferrisburg the son of Harry and Dona Sears Barrows.

    When he was born Doc Rogers arrived with a Stanley Steamer and he was delivered at the house due to bad weather.  Then later on he bought the farm and Marvin and Sylvia spent 65 years farming together.

    He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Barrows of West Ferrisburg; five children, Tom Barrows and wife Doreen, Dewey Barrows and wife Chris, twin brother Daniel Barrows; a daughter, Debra and husband Greg Webb; a son Timothy Barrows; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Brooke, Shannon, Trica, Carson, Amber, Jamie and Chauncy; six great grandchildren, Dara, Taylor, Alex, Spike, Ben, Jamie Marie; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by six brothers and a sister.

    A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 1st at Brown-McClay Funeral Homes in Vergennes. Interment was in Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburg. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, PO Box 11 Vergennes, VT 05491.

George E. Ingram, Jr.

 

MONKTON- George E. Ingram, Jr. 79 died peacefully at home on Jan. 30th surrounded by his sons and daughters and other loved ones.  He served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years.  He was and avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed bingo.  He loved the outdoors.

     George loved life and his children as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He leaves behind his daughter Karen and husband Ken who took care of him, his eldest son George and longtime partner Mary Torrey, son Danny and wife Mary, and his youngest daughter Cindy; also siblings, Gussie and husband Leroy, Denny and his wife, Raymond Ingram, Sr. and has now gone to join his beloved brother Lee Ingram who passed away in early January 2007.    

    A funeral service was held Feb. 2 at the United Church of Lincoln.  

     Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Addison County Home Health.  We all wish to thank Velyessa and Kristen for all of the love and support with our beloved father.

Malcolm Brown Wade

 

MIDDLEBURY - Malcolm Brown Wade age 73 died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at his home in Middlebury.  Mr. Wade was born in Worcester, MA on  March 10, 1933.  He was the son of William & Frances (Seeley) Wade.  He graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, MA, class of 1952.  Mr. Wade was a veteran of The United States Air Force, having served from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1956.  He has been a resident of Middlebury since 1966.  Mr. Wade was a Draftsman all his life.  He had worked for  many years for H.P. Hood, during which time he designed plans, for many Addison County Farms.  Following his retirement he continued working in a janitorial capacity at Ilsley Library in Middlebury, for several years.  He was a member of Valley Bible Church in East Middlebury.

   Surviving is his wife Barbara Anderson Wade of Middlebury; whom he married in Worcester, MA on Nov. 17, 1956.  Two sons W. Scott Wade and his wife Angie of Middlebury and Charles A. Wade and his wife Debi of Bradford.  Two daughters Brenda Wade and her fiance’
Jay Barry of Middlebury and Susan Demers and her husband Paul of Concord, VT.  One brother Alan John Wade and his wife Margaret of Worcester, MA.  Three sisters Louise Phelps and her husband Charles of Rochester, NY, Jean Shaw and her husband Donald of Cape Cod, MA and Muriel Pyche and her husband Rolland of W. Boylston, MA.  Ten grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.  He was also pre-deceased by one grandson Ricky Beebe.

   The Memorial Service “In Celebration of His Life” was held at Valley Bible Church on February 4th.  A private burial will take place in Farmingdale Cemetery in Middlebury in the spring.

   Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to The Valley Bible Church, 322 East Main Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.
