   The Commodore boys were defeated on Wednesday by the Montpelier Solons. In the first quarter, both teams were evenly matched. The Commodores snuck ahead of the Solons and ended the quarter 10-9. Montpelier began move ahead of Vergennes in the second quarter.

   Both teams continued to play tough, but the Solons ended the half ahead. The score at the half was 25-20. Montpelier continued to hold their lead in the third quarter. The gap began to widen as the Solons scored sixteen points to the Commodores‚ seven. The third quarter ended with a score of 41-27, Montpelier.

   The Commodores tried to come back in the final quarter, but they were too late. They were able to hold the Solons to six points, but were only able to score four. The game ended with a score of 47-31, Montpelier. High scorer for Vergennes was junior Jesse Lalumiere with fourteen points. For the Solons, it was Thomas Passburg with eighteen points.
