Gloria J. Langeway

FERRISBUGH - Gloria J. Langeway, 79 died Saturday December 30, 2006 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

   She was born June 18, 1927 in New London, NH the daughter of Joseph and Santa Maria Cricenti.

   She was member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes, 4H Leader,  Home Den in Ferrisburgh and avid Red Sox fan. Through her childhood, she worked at her family’s store Cricenti’s Market which was started in 1947. Then she married Hosea Langeway on June 5, 1954 and then they moved to Ferrisburgh.

   Gloria is survived by her husband Hosea Langeway of Ferrisburgh; four children, Maria and Douglas Dulli of Madison, Wisconsin; Thomas Langeway ,  Lori Langeway, and Julie and Marv Morley all of Ferrisburgh; seven grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Richard, Jonathan, Jessica Dulli, and Jennifer and Lindsay Morley; three sisters, Christine  Cricenti, Catherine Kerrigan, Jacqueline Kelly all of New Hampshire; sister in law, Marie Shortsleeve of Ferrisburgh; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers, Frank, George, Nicholas, and a sister Marie Monetta.

   A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday January 2nd at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment was in St. Peter Cemetery in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Vermont Affiliate 77 Hedgeman Ave. Colchester, VT 05446.

Audrey E. Looby

SHELBURNE-Audrey E. Looby, 79 died Saturday December 30, 2006 at her home in Shelburne.

   She was born December 2, 1927 in Burlington the daughter of Joseph and Mildred Macintyre Tucker.

   She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes. She graduated from Vergennes High School in 1945, DeDeGoesbriand Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, and she worked at DeDeGoesbriand Hospital as the head nurse. Then she worked for ten years at VA Hospital in White River Jct., and she returned to Burlington and worked at Mary Fletcher Hospital. In 1973 she married Robert William Looby Sr. and he predeceased her July 28, 2004.

   Audrey is survived by five children, Bernard Looby of Burlington; Phyllis Looby of Ottawa, Canada; Robert Looby Jr. of Starksboro; Elizabeth Barrett of Ireland; Thomas Looby of S. Burlington; three grandchildren; a sister, Alice Bodette of Addison; brother in law Clem and Nancy Looby of South Burlington; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son John.

    A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday January 5th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Vergennes.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf 228 North Winooski Ave. Burlington, VT 05401.

David Lloyd Weller

VERGENNES-David Lloyd Weller, born in Munfordville, Kentucky September 28, 1938, son of Damon and Ruth Weller, died Tuesday December 26, 2006 at his home.

   David received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from RIT and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Iowa State University. He retired from UVM as a Professor emeritus of Botany and Agricultural Biochemistry, after thirty-four happy years of teaching.

   He is survived by his wife Anne and daughter, Amy Eggleston, her husband Nicholas, and two granddaughters, Eve and Lily of Indianapolis, IN, a sister Lucille Richardson and brother Charles of Florida. Predeceased by brothers Dale and Donald and sister Georgia Rowe, as well as his parents.

  A graveside service was held on Thursday January 4th at Hardy’s Corner Cemetery in Rushford, NY. Brown McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes was in charge of arrangements
