Casey L. Dalley

Cornwall-Casey L. Dalley, 13, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at his home in Cornwall following a long illness.

He was born in Middlebury on February 10, 1993.

Casey is survived by his mother Donna Dalley, step father Howard Lancour of Cornwall, sister Cynthia Marcelle of NY., two brothers Kenneth Dalley, and Michael Dalley both of  Cornwall, special friends Bob and Lisa Smith and their children Jessie, Kirk and Curtis all of Bridport, his assistant Suzanne Sampson of Bridport, his birth family Coleen Huestis, Shirley, Chad, Rosa, Samantha, and Kate, several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Memorial services were held Thursday Sept 21  at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be at a later date. Contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont 100 Dorset Street, Suite 14, South Burlington, VT 05403.

Hiram G. Pierce

Monkton - Hiram G. Pierce, 85 died Thursday September 14, 2006 at Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

He was born April 6, 1921 in Randolph, Maine the son of Ulysses and Elizabeth (McGugin) Pierce.

He was a member and Past Master of Patriot Lodge #33 F&AM in Hinesburg, Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Mt. Sinai Shrine in the Mt. Sinai Relics Unit.

Hiram is survived by his wife Ada Hanson Pierce of Monkton; two children, Gerald Pierce and special friend Marge Schofield of Monkton; Priscilla Pierce of Monkton; two grandsons, Virgil and wife Nancy Pierce of Columbus, Ohio; Nicholas Pierce of Tangent, Oregon; a sister in law, Mildred Pierce of Ashville, NC; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandson, Justin Pierce; a daughter in law, Patricia Pierce; and a brother, Francis Pierce.

Funeral services were held . on Wednesday September 20th at Monkton Friends Church in Monkton. Interment will be in East Monkton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shrine Hospital for Children 516 Carew St. Springfield, Mass 01104-2396. Thank you to the staff at the Vermont Veteran Home for their care of Hiram and his family.

Doris E. Field

Vergennes - Doris E. Field 89 died unexpectedly on Tuesday September 19, 2006 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born April 28, 1917 in Vergennes the daughter of Chester and Mary (Gee) Barrows.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #14 in Vergennes and VFW in Middlebury. She worked at Stephen’s Pharmacy and then it became Vergennes Pharmacy for twenty eight years. Doris loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were the center of her life, and will be greatly missed by her extended family and many friends.

Predeceased by her husband Harold (Cap) Field Sr. on June 7, 1982.

She is survived by five children, Nancy Steady and Brian Houghton of Charlotte; Barbara White and Jack of Ferrisburgh; Mary Jane Danyow of Vergennes; Rebecca Tarte and Paul of Vergennes; Harold Field Jr. and Julie of Waltham; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Alma Plummer of Vergennes; Anita Cassidy of Shelburne; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Camilla Flanders; two brothers Arthur Barrows, James Barrows; grandson Jacob White.

A memorial service was held on Saturday September 23rd at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. There were no public calling hours. James Robert Dubois

Orwell-James Robert Dubois, age 27 passed away Wednesday September 20, 2006 in Middlebury. James was born in Middlebury May 10, 1979 the son of Robert and Gail (Blair) Dubois.

James was a graduate of Fair Haven Union High School. On August 12, 2000 he was married to Hayley Ladd in Orwell. James worked for Spafford & Sons Water Wells, Middlebury for the last year and a half. Prior working for Spafford’s James worked at various local farms.

James loved the outdoors, his hobbies included 4-Wheeling, Hunting and Fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Hayley Dubois of Orwell, His Son Zachery and his daughter Victoria both of Orwell. His parents, Robert and Gail Dubois of East Middlebury, his brother, Dan Dubois of Shoreham. his Maternal Grandmother Barbara Blair of Orwell; His Paternal Grandmother, Madeline Dubois of Shoreham; His mother and father in law; Cathy and Richard Ladd of Orwell,   His two brothers-in-law, Kevin Ladd of Poultney and Trevor Ladd of Orwell. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He is predeceased by his infant daughter, Taylor Dubois, July 26, 2000, his Paternal Grandfather George Dubois and his Maternal Grandfather Charles Blair.

A Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating his life was held on Saturday Sept 23rd in St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Shoreham.  Celebrant was the The Rev. Justin Baker, Pastor. Graveside committal services interment  followed  in Mountain View Cemetery, OrwellMemorial contributions may be made to the James Dubois Memorial Education  Fund c/o Spafford & Sons, P.O.
