Alfred B. Curavoo Sr.

NEW HAVEN- Alfred B. curavoo Sr.,58 died Sunday August 13, 2006 at his home in New Haven.

He was born July 13, 1948 in Burlington the son of Fred and Gladys (Dupree) Curavoo.

He was a member of American Legion Post # 19 in Bristol.

Alfred is survived by four children Aleisha Baldwin and husband Todd of Bristol; Alfred Bruce Curavoo Jr. of Starksboro; Kimberly Barrows of Keeseville, NY; Melissa Cousino and husband Alan of Starksboro; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Betty, Kay, and Susie; five brothers, Barry, Larry, Wayne, Sonny and Fred; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Thursday August 17th at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment followed in Hinesburg Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Haven Fire Department New Haven, VT 05472, or American Legion Post #19 Bristol, VT 05443.

Elaine M. Farr

Bristol -Elaine M. Farr 82 died Tuesday August 15, 2006 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

She was born June 5, 1924 in Newbury the daughter of Charles and Florence (Morell) LaMotte.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #19 in Bristol.

Predeceased by her husband Alfred (Red) Farr on August 10, 1989.

Elaine is survived by three children, Drucilla Nye and her husband Bryan of Bristol; Greg Farr and his wife Melissa of St. Albans; Winston Farr and his wife Tia of Bristol; eleven grandchildren, Bryce, Eric, Nathan, Meranda, Greg, Nicholas, Richard, Trevor, Wade, Nick, and R.J. a sister, Gloria; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a nephew Wiley (Bucky) LaMotte.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Friday August 18th at Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment followed in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bristol Area Rescue Squad PO Box 227 Bristol, VT 05443.

Nina L. O’Bryan

New Haven- Nina L. O’Bryan 88 died Wednesday August 16, 2006 at Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 1, 1918 in Bristol, the daughter of William and Louisa (Clark) Ladeau.

Predeceased by her husband Cullen O’Bryan in 1987.

Nina is survived by two children, Charles O’Bryan of Chittenden, Ella O’Bryan-Smith of New Haven; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Ladeau and Neil Ladeau both of Connecticut; four sisters, Catherine Clark of Plattsburgh, NY; Ina Stenley of Georgia; Erma Grant of Addison; Florence O’Bryan of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

A  graveside service was held  on Wednesday August 23rd at Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center (Brighter Days Alzheimer’s Program) 98 Hospitality Drive Barre, VT 05641.  

Vivian H. Hutchins

Lincoln- Vivian H. Hutchins, 85 died Friday August 18, 2006 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington.

She was born July 12, 1921 in West Topsham, Vermont the daughter of Gladys (Avery) and Elwin Sargent Hood. She attended elementary schools in Bellows Falls and Saxtons River. Graduated 2nd in her class from Randolph High School, completed 2 years at Lyndon State College receiving a BS degree from Castleton State College. Received her Masters from UVM. Taught Elementary and Junior High School in Orange, Ryegate, and Groton before coming to Lincoln in 1949 teaching there and in New Haven, Bristol, and Middlebury. She retired in 1978 to become bookkeeper for the Martyn Hutchins Mill.

In the summer of 1961 she was chosen by the National Science foundation to attend a summer session at Beloit College in Wisconsin. She represented Lincoln serving on the school board for the building of Mt Abraham Union High School. A member of the United Church of Lincoln, she was secretary during the church's rebuilding. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, a volunteer at Lincoln Library, a member of Eastern Star and with her husband worked with the Shrine.

           She and her husband, Martyn R Hutchins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1992.  Vivian enjoyed a strong circle of friends to whom she was always grateful often saying "what do people do without family and friends?" She felt especially close to her family and appreciated their many kindnesses. She was fortunate to have a dear supportive friend  Arthur Sherman of New Haven.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Diane and her husband Daniel Adam of Lincoln; Rhonda Hutchins-Rintala of Kennebunk, Maine; three grandchildren, Denver Adam, Deena Adam Moore and Jessalynn Rintala; and great grandchildren Brandon Deal and Alayna Moore, a half sister Gloria Charboneau of Lincoln; several brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.                                                                                                               Funeral services were held  on Monday August 21st at United Church of Lincoln. Interment  in Maple Cemetery in Lincoln. . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bristol Libanus Lodge Scholarship Fund, PO Box 124 Bristol, VT 05443.
