John was born April 14, 1918 in Port Henry, NY, the son of the late Pasqale and Pasqualina Ezzo.

John led a long and productive life; as noted by his numerous and variedaccomplishments.  As a young man at Port Henry High School, John was a4-sport letter winner who excelled as a baseball pitcher, even trying out for the Major League at one point.  His love of baseball was widely known by family and friends who watched him cheer on "his" Yankees.  He was also a  devoted San Francisco 49ers. fan.  John was also an avid outdoorsman all of his  life, enjoying fishing and especially deer hunting.  Even as far as into his late 70's John traveled to CO on a hunting trip where he "bagged" his last buck!

John served in the Pacific Theater as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp. during WWII where he garnered many commendations/ribbons and medals.  He served  together with five of his brothers and three of his sisters.

At the culmination of WWII, John was discharged in San Diego, CA where he became an officer for the San Diego Police Dept.  Shortly thereafter, John returned  home to the Port Henry area where he met and married his wife of 33 years, Florence Putnam Taylor.  Florence pre-deceased him in 1981.

John was employed by International Paper Co. of Ticonderoga as an Electrician  for 45 years until his retirement, and was a member of the Company's Quarter  Century Club.

A Funeral Service was held at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home.  The Rev. William G. Muench, Pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga, officiated.
