Ashley Rouse, who won the title of Vermont Jr. Sweetheart in the National Teenagers Scholarship Pageant stopped by Porter Hospital Admissions to deliver beanie babies, coloring books, crayons, stickers, and children's books. Pictured with Ashley are Porter Volunteers Marion Werner and Joyce Haggarty. Ashley founded "Because I care" which puts together various goodies for distribution to younger patients at Porter Medical Center. Because I Care also has distributed items to area seniors at Project Independence to giveaway as prizes during bingo, shuffleboard, and other activities. Porter is truly grateful to Ashley and others who give of their time so that our patients and families may benefit.
