Theda P. Browne

Monkton— Theda P. Browne 83 died Monday April 3, 2006 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

She was born July 1, 1923 in Monkton the daughter of Leon and Eva (Butterfield) Bushey.

Predeceased by her husband Robert Browne.

Theda is survived by two children Jay Vrooman and his wife Marlene of New Haven; Janice Siver of Bradenton, Florida; three step children Wendy Fisher and her husband Allan of Essex Jct.; Kenneth Browne of Essex; Bobby Browne of Indiana; two grandchildren, Lisa Poynter of Lexington, South Carolina; Mark Vrooman of Anchorage, Alaska; Two great grandchildren, Ashley and Haley; her sister, Lucille LaRose and her husband Roy of Bristol; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Bernard Bushey.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lawrence Memorial Library North St. Bristol, VT 05443. Brown McClay Funeral Home in Bristol will be in charge of arrangements.

Gladys S. Hallock

Vergennes— Our very special mother, Gladys S. Hallock passed away on April 3, 2006.
Mom was born on February 24, 1930 in Monkton, Vt. The daughter of the late Dewey and Flora (Jewell) Shiverette. She attended school at Beeman Academy in New Haven.

On April 7, 1948, Mom married her beloved, Wayne Hallock, who predeceased her on June 1, 1976. She worked at the Ben Franklin Store in Vergennes and later K-Mart in So. Burlington. She was a member of the Beatrice Rebekah Lodge.

Mom enjoyed attending Project Independence in Middlebury where she made many close friends of the staff and also those who attended "Project" with her. She loved playing shuffleboard and bingo. She couldn't wait until good weather to go back after staying home during the cold winter months.

Gladys leaves behind her daughter, Sylvia Hallock of Vergennes with whom she lived and was cared for so lovingly and also her daughter, Glenna Coyle and her husband, Joseph of Ferrisburgh. Also surviving her are grandchildren, Gary Hallock and his wife Bethany of Ferrisburgh; Tammie Shepard (also her loving caregiver) and her fiance Michael Booska of Ferrisburgh; Christina Safford and her husband Michael of Vergennes and Lisa Hanlon of Ferrisburgh. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Michael Safford III, Joshua and Jacob Hanlon, Trevor and Samantha Hallock, a sister-in-law Lorraine Hallock of Richmond, several nieces and nephews as well as close friends Arthur Hurlburt, Grace Edney, Shirley LaVenska, and Stella Collette

Gladys was predeceased by her sister-in-law Olga Hallock and brother-in-law John Hallock

A special thank you to those at Addison County Home Health, especially June, Donna, and Brenda who were so dedicated to helping our Mom whenever needed. We would also like to thank Mom and Sylvia's wonderful friends and neighbors, Kaye, Judy, Kristy, Janet and Erin for always being there for her. Also, many thanks to Steve, Ann and the members of the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad for all their help.

Lastly, our family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the main floor nursing staff at Porter Hospital in Middlebury for the devoted and loving care she was given during her stay. There are no words that can describe their kindness, tenderness and genuine concern and love they showed not only to her but also for our family as well.                                                                                                                                                                                          

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service took place at Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. A memorial reception was held at the American Legion in Vergennes. Wilma (Wood) Stanilonis

Addison-Wilma (Wood) Stanilonis, 93 died Friday March 31, 2006 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

She was born November 30, 1912 in Addison the daughter of Frank G. and Eva (Smith) Wood.She attended schools in Addison and Vergennes and graduated from Vergennes High School in 1930. Also, Wilma was a captain of the girl's basketball team for three years. Then she attended Burlington Business College and graduated in 1932. She married her husband Philip F. Stanilonis in 1939 and he predeceased her on August 18, 2001. She owned and operated Woods Auto Supply 101 Main St. in Vergennes for thirty four years. Wilma was a member of Vergennes Congregational Church.

Wilma is survived by her son, Paul and his wife Margaret Stanilonis of Ferrisburgh; three grandchildren David Stanilonis of Ferrisburgh; Susan Lepple and her husband Andrew of Hinesburg; Daniel Stanilonis of Seattle, Washington, a great granddaughter Amelie Lepple. Predeceased by a sister Lucille Wood.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 19th at Vergennes Congregational Church. Reception will follow at fellowship hall at the church. Contributions may be made to Vergennes Area Rescue Squad PO Box 11 Vergennes, VT or Addison County Home Health & Hospice Route 7 Middlebury, VT. Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes will be in charge of arrangements.
