The Vergennes boys played in the Division II semi-finals against the Fair Haven Slaters on Thursday at the Barre Auditorium. Fair Haven took control of the game in the first quarter. The ended the quarter with a score of 22-5, Slaters.

In the second quarter, the Commodores picked up their defense. They were able to hold Fair Haven to a mere 4 points. During that time, Vergennes was able to begin closing the gap. But, Fair Haven was still able maintain their lead. The half ended 26-15, Fair Haven. The gap continued to shrink in the third quarter. The Slaters continued to push the Commodores, and kept their lead.

In the final quarter, Fair Haven sealed a trip to the finals. The Commodores never gave up, but the Slaters were just too much. The final score was 50-36, Slaters. It was a great game, and both teams played with all they had.

Top scorers for Vergennes were senior Josh Darragh with 15 points and Judd Evarts with 12. For the Slaters, it was Ian Turner with 15 points and Kurt Diercksen with 12.

It was a sad night for the Vergennes fans, as it was the last time we will be able to watch our seniors play. But we wish them all the best in their futures, which certainly look very bright.
