A county fixture since 1982, everyone knows that County Tire Center is a one stop shop for all tire needs. What might surprise many people is the extent of the services provided include everything but transmission work. If you need exhaust, tune up, struts, shocks or more stop by and see owners Steve & Lisa Dupoise. In addition, Country Tire is a qualified hybrid shop serving cars. Located ta 33 Seymour Street in Middlebury, County Tire is open from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon on Saturday. Steve and Lisa Dupoise have been at the helm since January of 2012 and are the second generation in the business.
For the 5th year, County Tire is sponsoring a food drive to benefit HOPE ( Helping Overcome Poverty's Effects) in Middlebury, Vermont. Originally known as Addison County Community Action Group, (ACCAG), the organization has been active since 1965 providing programs to low income people in Addison County. Rather than offering set programs, HOPE talks to people and finds out what the pressing needs are and finds a way to help. This is the fifth year that Steve & Lisa Dupoise and their company have served as a collection site for non-perishable food items. For each person that brings in 12 non-perishable food items, County Tire will give a free brake inspection. If the vehicle does need repair, County Tire donates the pads for free and take off a half an hour of labor off the bill. The food drive is also offered in partnership with Burlington Foreign Car Parts and focuses both locations on raising awareness of the needs of the people of the Champlain Valley.
“ We tend to average about 60 cars each year during this promotion and bring in a good amount of food,” explained Lisa Dupoise. The couple offers the special for the months of January, February and brings it to a close on March 2nd. Even if people don't need their brakes checked, Steve & Lisa encourage you to stop by and use their shopping carts as a donation point for non-perishable items. The more food donated the happier the Dupoise family will be. Hunger is not seasonal and there are people in Addison County in need year round. All food donated to this annual event benefits the people in need in Addison County.
