The Tigers broke through early after stopping the Bob White running game on their first possession.  BFA junior quarterback Nate Loughlin decided to go air and the Tigers Cody Pomainville picked him off near mid-field.  Pomainville then engineered a Tiger drive to the red zone and threw a nice TD pass to junior Zack Dunn from 16-yards out.  The kick was hooked left but the Tigers were in front, 6-0.
BFA stormed right back.  On their next series, senior power back Nate Parady slashed and spun through the Tigers and Griffin Knapp found a hole at Tiger 42 and raced in for a TD.  The kick was good and the Bob Whites went ahead 7-6 late in the first quarter.  The Tigers were unfazed and Pomainville mixed his plays on the option and moved the Tigers into BFA territory with 2:48 left in the quarter.
BFA's defense led by senior Nate Wilson, stopped the Tigers on a big 4th down pass rush and took over on downs with time running out.   The first quarter ended 7-6 BFA.
In the second stanza Middlebury made a huge defensive stand in their territory, stopping Parady and Knapp and adding a solid pass rush on Laughlin.  Perera, Devlin, Foote and Deppman pushed back the bigger Bob Whites and kept the pressure on.  BFA shows a lot of looks on offense and the Tigers would not bite.  On third down and short at the Tiger 15, Parady was stopped at the point of the hand off.  BFA opted for a field goal and Kam Densmore only a sophomore, dropped one through the sticks from 31-yards out to make it 10-6 BFA.
The Tigers went three and out gave the Bob Whites good field position on a shanked punt at their 41.  Laughlin wasted no time and hit tight end Mark Howrigan on a fly for a 41-yard TD and a BFA lead of 17-6 after the kick.  Middlebury would not fold and they roared right back into the fray.  Two good runs and they were moving but again stalled and BFA's Eros Bouley Swedo blocked a Tiger punt recovered by the home-towners in the Tiger red zone.  The Tigers would not budge and another field goal attempt of 27-yards was spotted, booted and missed now late in the first half.  Both teams stopped each other as the clock wound down and BFA's Dunsmore got one more chance for a three-pointer from the Tiger 27 and he hit it.  It was 20-6 BFA At the half.
The Tigers offensive line was fired up in the their quarter and they marched down the field and punched it in again with Pomainville and Bullock providing the firepower.  Bullock's 9-yard blast and Donovan's boot made it BFA 20, the Tigers 13 with Tiger momentum mounting.  They drove into BFA territory once more and ran out of downs.  BFA got a great clutch run from Parady as he plowed to the Tiger 14-yard line and Knapp scored from the 6 to make it 27-13 after the p.a.t. kick.  Middlebury answered with a hard earned 49-yard touchdown drive of their own.  The score was set up by two great catches by Dunn including a TD grab to put the Tigers back in a one score ballgame 27-20 after the point after was notched and an entire quarter left to play.  But it was not to be.  BFA closed out this one in the 4th with one more touchdown, a six yard pass to Hawrigan from Laughlin to seal the deal for BFA 34 to 20 over the Middlebury Tigers.  The Tigers season was over but they still made their mark with every team they played this year especially in this one at BFA.
