Lawrence “Red” J. Bishop Jr.

Vergennes – Lawrence “Red” J. Bishop Jr. 81, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2017 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born June 5, 1936 in Rutland the son of Lawrence J. Bishop Sr. and Maude (White) Bishop.
    Red was a farmer and auto mechanic for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting and wood crafting.
    He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary (Brileya) Bishop of Vergennes, by his sons, Stephen Bishop and companion Danette, Larry Bishop and wife Rebecca, Bruce Bishop and wife Linda and Jeff Bishop and wife Pam.  By his siblings, Marilyn, Bonnie, Chris, Roger, Russell and Bill. Also by his eight grandchildren and his Seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Per his request there will be no visiting hours.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 19, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Lake View Cemetery in Shoreham.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad. At 106 Panton Road, Vergennes, Vt 05491.
