Diana Mooney van de VeldeNovember 20, 1951- July 6, 2017 Diana grew up in Mendon, NY where she loved to ride her horse and was a member of Pony Club, graduated from Mt. Ida College in Boston; spent her summers as a child on Lake Dunmore at her maternal grandparents lake home, Anne and Zack Taylor, where she eventually met her husband, Bob and took up residence in Middlebury prior to moving to Stowe. Diana loved to cross country ski, hike, sail and cook. Diana was an accomplished silver smith and spent several years designing and creating jewelry. She travelled the world as a chef sailing on Sea Cloud. She worked in numerous food establishments in Vermont refining her culinary skills: Clancy’s, Paul Prudhommes, Blueberry Hill, Mr. Ups, Fire and Ice), and she loved to garden Diana was predeceased by her husband Robert van de Velde Jr., and her father, Frederick Edgar Mooney Jr. She is survived by her Mother, Marylyn Taylor Mooney, siblings (Trip and his wife Laurie Mooney, Colorado; John Mooney, New Orleans; Cuyler Mooney, NY and Sarah & her husband Drew Saypack, California), and ten nieces and nephews, and three great nieces and nephews. Diana had a very generous heart and truly loved family.
