Watching over the water is this magnificent Eagle.

The Vermont League of Women’s Boaters was started in 2013 by two friends whose husband’s had band practices on Tuesday night, has grown to 226 Facebook followers and paddles the waterways of Vermont from May to September. Each Wednesday night member Wendy Bruso posts on the Facebook site the location of the paddles to come. “Our best paddle?" ponders Bruso. “Well there are really so many different ones. The LaPlatte River in Shelburne always has a lot of wildlife so that it makes it interesting. We do full moon paddles after dark at Ferrisburgh Town Beach.”
Planning to ‘light up the night’ for the next full moon on August 6th, the group will decorate their boats with lights and full moon paddles and the men are welcome to come along. While the weekly paddles flux between twelve to twenty-four women there is always room for more and the scenery is just this side of heavenly. Check out the Facebook site and just remember that summer time is only here for a short burst and each adventure on the water is an experience for the senses, a blessing for the soul and celebration of the beauty that is Vermont.
