Express Care Now Open At Porter Medical Center

The University of Vermont Health Network celebrated the opening of their new Express Care facility on the Porter Campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday evening June 12th 2017.
    Dr. Fred Kniffin,MD Porter CEO and  Dr. Laurie L. Patton PhD, President of Middlebury College cut the official ribbon held in place by Porter Medical physicians, support team and board members.
    Pictured above are Board Members: Peggy Keith, Ann Collins, Eleanor Ignat, and Maureen McLaughlin.  Joining them are:  Lisa Eddy RN, Sean May, PA-C, Tom Beauregard PA-C,  Dr. Amanda Young MD, Karen Beinhaur RN, Jennifer Bertrand, Dave Fuller, Kirk Gallipo and Lindsey Lathrop.
    Dr. Kniffin welcomed a sizable group of officials, staff and visitors to the sparkling new facility.  He thanked Middlebury College President Patton for the continued support the hospital has received from  their neighbors at Middlebury College.
    “Our mission is to improve the health of our community,” Dr. Kniffin explained.  He went on to mention the key principles that will be employed to accomplish that mission, namely access, quality, efficiency, and customer service.  
    The new facility is state-of-the-art and will offer patients, high quality and high technology care.  Dr. Kniffin also thanked the Porter Hospital Auxiliary for their continued dedication and hard work, citing their role in the success of of this latest project on the Porter Campus.
    The Express Care facility as explained in the UVM Health Network's current advertising campaign is designed to allow people to “Get In.  Get Out.  Get Well.  It further explains that this newly developed option for care will be “Perfect when you're visiting or if you can't get in to see your primary care provider.  No Appointment Needed. Onsite Lab and X-Ray. All Insurance Accepted,” it concludes”.
The Express Care facility will be open 9am till 7pm Monday thru Friday, Saturday 9am till 5pm and Sunday 9am till 3pm.
    Porter will continue to serve the Greater Middlebury Community with their Emergency Department 24/7.  Further information is available at UVMHealth.org/PMC.
