Brian Emmett Kerr

RIPTON: Brian Emmett Kerr, age 40, died Thursday, April 20, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Salisbury.
    Mr. Kerr was born in Middlebury on August 21, 1976. He was the son of Thomas and Donna (Cooley) Kerr. He grew up in Goshen and received his early education in Brandon schools, and attended Otter Valley Union High School. Brian began working while in the fifth grade at Goshen Farms of Florida and continued working there until age 19. He attended Job Corps in Vergennes where he learned to be a welder. He had worked as a welder for Chip-Tek in Cincinnati, OH and later at C.B. Mechanical. He had also worked as a welder for Brown’s in Bristol. He was part of the welding crew that completed the Library Dome at Middlebury College. He most recently worked for David Seller Contract Concrete. He enjoyed the great outdoors; hunting, fishing, living in the woods and four wheeling. He was an avid NASCAR fan who had fun hanging with the guys.
    Surviving is his companion of 22 years; Christina Walker of Ripton and their children; Andrew John Kerr, Cori Rose Kerr and Liberty Grace Kerr all of Ripton, his parents; Tom & Donna Kerr also of Ripton, his sister; Heather Kerr and his niece, Sofia Kerr both of Middlebury. Several aunts, uncles’ and cousins also survive him.
    The funeral service was held on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in Cook Cemetery in Ripton.
