DAR Essay Contest Winners

Joy Minns, Regent of the Seth Warner - Rhoda Farrand Chapter of the DAR, was delighted to present awards to two participants in the NSDAR 2016-2017 essay contest. Addie Brooks, a 9th grader at VUHS, received a 2nd place certificate for her entry in the Christopher Columbus contest. Her sister, 7th grader Olivia Brooks, received a 1st place pin, certificate, and monetary award for her entry in the American History contest. All 5-8th grade students in a public, private, or parochial school and those who are home schooled are eligible to participate in the American History essay contest and all students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in the Christopher Columbus contest.
