It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Theo Fuller Lowell. Theo was a real character, a true Vermonter and she loved Middlebury. As a matter of fact Theo loved life and everything that came with it. We were favored with her friendship for as long as there has been a Valley Voice Newspaper. She was very engaging and she made us smile. We had the privilege of visiting with Theo in her “kitchen office,”on a regular basis over the years. Her weekly informational ad in the Voice featured birthdays, anniversaries and personal notes of local interest. Our readers looked forward to it every week. Knowing where you stood with Theo was easy. She would let you know how she felt in no uncertain terms. She had an uncanny knack for understanding business, politics and everything else and she enjoyed discussing these subjects at length. One of her forums was the coffee counter at Rosie’s Restaurant. We will miss our frequent conversations but we will rely on those fond memories of her to ease our own individual sense of loss. People like Theo seem to make you brighter the longer you know them. She truly cared and was willing to share knowledge and information with us. Theo was firm, she was fair and most of all Theo was always there for her friends, family and community. The Greater Middlebury Community has lost one of its best and brightest. To Theo's family and friends we offer our most sincere condolences. We will all miss Theo Fuller Lowell!
