When Rylee Field was crowned Miss Vermont 2016 in May at the Barre Opera House, little did she know how fast her life would accelerate. Working full time as a wedding planner and teaching fitness were her two regular jobs, but added to that was the calendar and appearance schedule of Miss Vermont. For the past three months Rylee has cross-crossed the state in appearances that span Rotary presentations, parades, golf tournaments, children's camps, and large fairs. In July she joined the other 49 Miss America contestants for a week in Washington DC that included a White House Tour, witnessing the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and visit to their legislators.
In addition to already putting thousands of miles on her car, Miss Vermont 2016 has traveled to Florida to cheer on her teen sister Miss Vermont's Outstanding Teen Alexandra Diehl as she competed in Orlando. Florida. This weekend the spotlight was on Miss Vermont Rylee and the packing list that will take her to Atlantic City starting on August 29th and the famed Miss America stage. Competing in interview, talent, fitness and on-stage question, Rylee will bring to the Miss America stage her unique talent of spoken word poetry and her passion for promoting mental health access and programs to Vermonters or all ages. Her send off party was hosted at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Montpelier, Vermont and on hand to cheer Rylee on was not only friends, family and supporters, but several past Miss Vermont's who know just how exciting it is to be a part of the action packed two weeks in Atlantic City and the televised finals. So mark your calendars and tune in on September 11th!
