With Middlebury High School Football,  it's always been about fundamentals and aggressiveness.  It's been that way for years.  Last year's Junior Varsity Squad won all their games.  This year's Freshman team is big, fast and eager to learn. The Tiger Varsity has gone deep into the post-season over the past several years.  They are the Division 1 second place team for 2015 after loosing to Rutland in the State Championship Game.  They were undefeated in the 2015 regular season.  Will these two (Rutland and Middlebury) meet again this fall?  They do not play in the regular 2016 season.
A preview of things to come took place on Friday night August 26th 2016 during a three way scrimmage with Fair Haven and Otter Valley at Doc Collins Field.  Head coaches Dennis Smith of the Tigers, Brian Hill of OV's Otters and Brian Grady of the Slaters were ready to see what they had to work with under actual game conditions including officials and sideline markers.  All three coaches are coming off a big Vermont Shrine Game win over New Hampshire this year.  Football is here and the players and coaches are getting ready.  Game one is at Mt. Anthony Union High School in Bennington on Friday Night September 2nd 2016 at Father Spinelli Field.  Kick-off is scheduled for 7p.m.  Enjoy the season and follow the Tigers right here in The Valley Voice.
