2016 A Year of Continued Growth And Stability In The U.S.

Tuesday January 5, 2016

By Lydia Solini (www.AstrologyByLydia.com)

The United States will continue to make progressive growth through inventions, new ventures, activities, explorations and ingenuity until July 4, 2016.  Great strides will continue with daring attempts at independence.  We are in a courageous and strong willed cycle, which brings fresh starts, changes and upheavals.  Pioneering efforts are highlighted as we continue to seek our independence from foreign countries.  A good example of this is the continuing descent of oil prices which has fallen and will continue to fall in 2016 because we are becoming less and less dependent on foreign oil.  And because there is a glut of oil in the market; so it is safe to invest in a business or do home improvement or anything that might have seemed risky since 2008.  There is a good chance the oil prices will decline further in 2016!
With the collapse of oil prices there are many positive effects on our economy:
1) Consumers spend more helping all business improve; 2) businesses are more likely to expand (especially shipping and transportation industries); and 3) to some degree it holds down inflation.  An offshoot of this could be more stable food prices since shipping costs are lower, however, if we suffer weather events, which are likely, and which impact the food industry, lower oil costs won’t matter.
With inflation moving up slowly it is unlikely that interest rates in banks will increase so money markets and cds won’t improve much in 2016.  This also, keeps down lending rates which can boost borrowing and growth.  Wages are also affected making it more difficult to get the higher raise one may be hoping for.
There will be continuing growth and improvement in the US housing and jobs markets.  The US dollar will continue to appreciate.  Global growth will continue in stable countries making them the best bet for investments and travel.
We are also pulling back from our interest abroad wishing to avoid getting embroiled in any conflicts with foreign countries.  This is a sound move which helps us to make improvements at home.
Manufacturing in the US will be making some inroads as companies return slowly to the US market; states would do well to entice former US manufacturers to return.
China’s economy will continue to decline, as India’s improves.  Although, Europe has fairly stable governments, the banks are still not lending in 2016, and will continue to put out minor fires in less prudent countries making it difficult to bounce back.  The US dollar will be far stronger than the euro in 2016.
The greatest risk comes from emerging nations whose global economies are affected by commodities.  Latin American is having problems and in 2016 they will continue to mount unless they are tackled, especially Brazil; inflation is out of control and the currency is losing value.  Africa’s economy will also suffer because they, too, have natural resource based economies.  The Middle East will continue to implode; as those engaged in conflict have no economies to speak of.
In 2016 throughout the world there is a probability of political squabbles within unstable governments.  This creates shaky financial economies and currency fluctuations, it is extremely important to avoid investments in areas of this nature.  Those who participate in company funded plans would do well to find out where those monies are being invested to avoid losses.
Slow and steady improvements are best in 2016; risk taking should be cautious with lots of information to back up investments.  Sound and firm management is the best way to come out of this year with positive results.
The field of science, particularly physics and technology, will see great advancements which will have a strong and lasting effect.  Since this is a year governed by mental dexterity there can be many positive results in the field of technology as it relates to more security developments in money and credit card institutions.  Skilled workers and technicians will be in demand; such as mechanical engineering.
With Jupiter in Virgo until the beginning of September 2016 there will be more of an interest in health and well being.  We will have a greater interest in the well being of children as well as addressing mental health issues.  Hygiene issues involving the food industry will be addressed, as well as diet plans, and school menus should continue to improve.  All forms of pleasure, entertainment and sports will be highlighted as we turn our attention to positive amusements.  From mid-September 2016 Jupiter enters Libra while still remaining in the 5th house of the US birth chart so our focus remains the same but there will also be an emphasis on creating more balance in our lifestyles.
With Saturn in Sagittarius and in the 7th house of the US birth chart, it is imperative that we take our infrastructure needs seriously.  We may be required to consider our weakest points and to deal with them throughout all of 2016.  Control will be important as foreign affairs tend to be shaky and we need to be prudent to avoid getting involved in conflicts that lead to war.
With Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn civil and political unrest can be felt here and abroad giving rise to protests, riots and disgruntlement.  Equality and fairness are the theme here and all governments that engage in unfair practices will be occupied in conflict as dissenters try to uproot those in power.  There will be continued violence and turbulence.  The hard aspects of transiting Uranus and Pluto tends to intensify the disparity between the masses of people who feel they are being unfairly treated and those in authority who are urgently trying to stay in power and to suppress the people and their wants again this year.  Immigration concerns will intensify around the globe as people escape oppressed and combative countries seeking security and safety.  Countries will still need to address immigration around the world.
Weather conditions will still be a problem around the world as storms become more erratic and unpredictable.  Neptune in Pisces will continue to stir up issues around flooding with unexpected hurricanes, tornadoes, monsoons and storms affecting our environment.  Drug and alcohol problems will continue to affect our population and legalization will continue to exacerbate the crisis.
After July 4, 2016 we are entering a time frame that is geared to peace seeking activities, working in cooperation with others, signing agreements, working on preservation projects, seeking conferences with other nations with better possibilities for coming to agreements.  Much better relations with foreign governments are possible as cooperation and goodwill become paramount.
Mercury will Retrograde (go backwards) four times in the New Year.  This is not usually a cause for concern unless your natal Mercury is conjunct, squared, or opposing transiting Mercury.  The first Retrograde will happen January 5 to the 24 when Mercury will retrograde in Aquarius and than Capricorn.  The second Retrograde will occur on April 28 to May 21 when Mercury will retrograde in Taurus.  The third Retrograde will begin August 30 to September 21 when Mercury will retrograde in Virgo.  The fourth Retrograde begins December 19 to January 7, 2017 when Mercury will retrograde in Capricorn and than Sagittarius.
Venus is moving in direct motion throughout 2016.  Venus is Sagittarius from January 1 to 23; Venus is in Capricorn on January 24 to February 16; Venus is Aquarius from February 17 to March 11; Venus is Pisces from March 12 to April 5; Venus is Aries on April 6 to 29; Venus is Taurus on April 30 to May 23; Venus is Gemini on May 24 to June 17; Venus is Cancer on June 18 to July 11; Venus is Leo on July 12 to August 5; Venus is Virgo on August 6 to 29; Venus is Libra on August 30 to September 23; Venus is Scorpio on September 24 to October 17; Venus is Sagittarius on October 18 to November 11; Venus is Capricorn on November 12 to December 7; and Venus is Aquarius on December 8 to January 2, 2017.  Consider your passions and desires when whenever Venus is transiting your Sun (personality or logical desires) or your Moon (psychic hunches or feeling desires).
Mars will Retrograde (go backwards) one time in 2016.  Mars will be moving direct and transiting Scorpio from January 4 to March 5.  From March 6 to 16 it will be moving direct in Sagittarius; on March 17 it will be retrograding back and forth in Sagittarius and than Scorpio until June 28.  On June 29 Mars goes direct in Scorpio until August 2.  Mars moves into Sagittarius on August 3 to September 26.  Mars enters Capricorn on September 27 to November 8; and enters Aquarius on November 9 to December 18.  Mars enters Pisces on December 19 to January 27, 2017.  As with all transits of Mars it is a time when we want to take action, make decisions and take risks; but do so cautiously when Mars is transiting your Sun or Moon.
J   upiter continues its transit in Virgo and Retrogrades (go backwards) from January 8 to May 8 than travels in direct motion until September 8, 2016.  Jupiter enters Libra on September 9 and continues direct until December 31, 2016.  As with all transits of Jupiter it is important to try to relate to our own needs better and to see the benefit of expanding one’s viewpoint; when we are willing to make changes and to let go of outgrown beliefs, we can experience good fortune.
Saturn continues in Sagittarius through all of 2016.  It will retrograde once in Sagittarius beginning March 25 to August 13.  At this time all the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) will be concerned with evaluating their lives.
Uranus is still transiting Aries and continues well beyond 2016.  It will retrograde once in Aries on July 29 to December 29.  This transit may help all the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) because it brings possibilities and the chance to be assertive which all the Cardinal signs enjoy since it lessens their nervous energy.
Neptune continues in Pisces and will remain well beyond 2016.  It will be retrograde in Pisces from May 16 to November 21.  This very extensive slow moving transit will gently impact the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).  This can be a time of reflection and deeper insight into which direction would be more fulfilling for their desires.
As we move forward into the New Year it is my hope that you will feel confident about the progress that the US continues to make.  This is a time to pursue your aspirations and goals with gusto; be willing to take calculated risks and to continually help those who are less fortunate than you!  Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
