Helping to spread some joy this season, members of the Vergennes Lions Club and Northland Job Corp met to create baskets and deliver them in advance of Thanksgiving.
For more than ten years, the Vergennes Lions Club has been providing Thanksgiving Baskets for families in need. This year the Vergennes Lions joined in partnership with the employees of Northland Job Corp to purchase and create 42 baskets including Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry and pumpkin. Meeting at the Vergennes Rescue Squad volunteers from Lions and Job Corp met to assemble and then deliver the baskets.  “It really was a partnership this year and we are very happy about working with Northland Job Corp employees,” shared Vergennes Lion Debbie Brace. “It is so important for families who need help to have access to a Thanksgiving Meal. We would also like to thank Snake Mountain Cruisers for their donation as well to help us reach our goal.”  People helping people and making the holidays brighter for many!
