Wilma U. Pecor

BRANDON: Wilma U. Pecor, age 70, died Friday, June 5, 2015, at the University Of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
    Ms: Pecor was born in Middlebury on April 27, 1945. She was the daughter of Archie and Ruth (Otis) Pecor. She grew up in Middlebury where she received her early education and was graduated from Middlebury High School, class of 1963. Following her graduation she began her working career with the United States Postal Service. She had worked, as a postal clerk at Rutland, Colchester and retired from the Middlebury Post Office. She enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, camping and playing cards.
    She is survived by her daughter; Alice Hancsarik & her husband Chris of Brandon; with whom she made her home; a brother Bud Pecor of Leicester and her sister Caresse Monteith of Plainfield. 2 granddaughters, a great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her parents and her partner in life; Joyce Ann Gilbeau, who passed September 15, 1993.
    The funeral service was held on Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; The American Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

 

Thomas John Cox

BRANDON: Thomas John Cox, age 79, died Saturday, June 6, 2015, at his home in Brandon.
    Mr. Cox was born in Greenwich on April 16, 1936. He was the son of Edward and Gladys (Weir) Cox. He grew up in Greenwich, NY where he received his education in local schools. He had been employed by Agway Petroleum for many years and was instrumental in establishing the local Middlebury Agway. He was a charter member of the Pittsford Lions Club. In 1979 he moved to Bennington where he was the Supervisor of Maintenance at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He had also served as a part time Bennington County Deputy Sheriff.  He was also a member of the Bennington Social Club. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
    Surviving is his wife; Mary Lou Cox of Brandon; whom he married in Ballston Spa, NY on July 28, 1956, his daughter, Terri Weeden and her partner Rainey Corso of Brandon, his son Thomas Mark Cox of Keene, NH, a brother; Larry Cox of New Baden, IL. 1 grandson and 2 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him, and a very special grandniece Emma. He was predeceased by a son; Daniel Cox, a brother, Edward Cox and his parents.
A private funeral service will take place at a later date.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers made be made, in his memory to; St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
