Curtis Michael Rawson

LEICESTER: Curtis Michael Rawson, age 43, died Friday, May 29, 2015.
    Mr. Rawson was born in Middlebury on February 10, 1972. He was the son of Michael and Carol (Aines) Rawson. He grew up in Brandon where he received his early education and was a member of the 1992 graduating class at Otter Valley Union High School. During his high school years he had played baseball and was a member of the wrestling team. He won the Vermont State Wrestling Championship in his weight class in 1988. He had been employed for many years at Vermont Tubbs in Brandon. He was named in Home & Garden Magazine for his “Dorset” Bed Room Furniture design, which was sold by Pottery Barn. He most recently was working at Whistle Pig Distillery in Shoreham.
    He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He had a love of reading western novels and sharing his life with his beloved Daisy, who predeceased him.
    Surviving is his father; Michael Rawson and step-mother Cathy both of Brandon, his mother, Carol J. Aines and her partner Cyd Isleib of Sudbury, his son; Eric Barker-Rowe of Brandon, a sister, Jodie Lee Keith of Pittsford and two brothers; Travis S. Rawson and Jarred S. Rawson both of Castleton. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive him.
    The memorial service “In Celebration of His Life” was held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the new Life Bridge Christian Church, located on Sportsman Club Road, in Brandon. The Rev. Roger Foster, pastor officiated.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Addison County Humane Society, 234 Boardman, Middlebury, VT 05753 or to Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
