A Celebration Of The Arts

Bringing together the arts is wonderful enough, but to feature the work of an entire district grades K-12 is memorable! Welcome to the ANWSU Fine Arts Festival!

Cultures worldwide have used the arts as a means of celebration, conveyance of cultural ideas and creation of new fields of thought and expression throughout the centuries. During the past few days there has been a festival featuring the works of artists and musical performances by grades kindergarten-twelve in the VUHS gymnasium. The Fine Arts Festival is a compilation of art in one place and a cornucopia of various mediums of expression. Visitors were shown a wide range of products and processes and treated to a concert and gymnasium filled with fun and frolic. Some of the art work invited participants to leap into the painting while other masterpieces depicted a new spin or main character. Each piece proudly displayed the name of the artist identifying the grade and school within the district. People who attended had different favorites but many lingered around the artworks celebrating flowers, nature and the rebirth of Vermont into greenery. Laughter could be heard, music was played and there was a feeling of enjoyment and celebration that happens every year at this event. And nothing can make people happier than to be surrounded by children they love, the artwork they created and witnessing the arts flourishing in our schools. Welcome spring and congratulations to the Fine Arts teachers and students who transformed a high school gymnasium into a masterpiece.
