Freda Marie Mitchell

BRANDON: Freda Marie Mitchell, age 92, died Sunday, March 08, 2015, at the home of her care providers; niece and nephew, Laura & Bob Malinowski; in Brandon.
    Mrs. Mitchell was born in Brandon on November 12, 1922. She was the daughter of Frederick and Ethel (Barkum) Devino. She grew up in Brandon and Forestdale where she received her education in local schools. November 17, 1939 she married Homer Josiah Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell predeceased her January 10, 1980. In her earlier years she had worked at Van Raaulte in Middlebury. She later worked at Dowty Electronics in Brandon for over 22 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon.
    She is survived by four daughters; Charlene Grimes, Linda Russell and Jane Aines all of Forestdale and Lorraine Williams of Sudbury, and a sister Avis LaRock of Middlebury. 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was also predeceased by a daughter; Donna Palmer, 2 brothers; Kenneth and Stewart Devino and 2 sisters; Elsie Kupfer and Mary Rose Gilligan.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in Forestdale Cemetery.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Rutland Area Visiting Nurse & Hospice, c/o Rutland Health Foundation, 160 Allen Street, Rutland, VT 05701 or to Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.

Joy Marie Clark

MIDDLEBURY: Joy Marie Clark, age 82, passed peacefully from this life and into our Father's presence on Monday, March 16, 2015, with loved ones at her side at her home in Middlebury.
    Ms: Clark was born in Isle La Motte on February 2, 1933. She was the daughter of Alcide and Rena (Jarvis) Bonneville. She grew up on Isle La Motte where she received her early education and was graduated from Mount St. Mary’s High School in Burlington, class of 1951. She came to Middlebury with her family in 1965, moving from Burlington. She began her working career with Middlebury College in 1966 in news service and retired in 1998 as an administrative assistant. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading and cross word puzzles. She was instrumental in and volunteered many hours in the formation of Bone Builders with RSVP in Middlebury. In earlier years she was a league bowler and she was always an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family was her life.
    Surviving are 3 daughters; Bonnie Betourney & her husband Michael of Salisbury, Darlene Thorpe & her husband Tim of Middlebury and Paula Pockette & her husband Alfred of Salisbury, her son; Steven Clark & his wife Lorie of Middlebury and a brother Leo Bonneville of Isle La Motte. 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Paul Clark and a brother Leonard Bonneville.
    The funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. The Rev. William Beaudin, pastor was the celebrant. A private burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Isle La Motte.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to: St. Mary’s School, 326 College Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.
