VUHS Rowing Teams Excel

On Saturday ,Oct 12th nearly 130 rowers from all over New England participated in the annual James Wakefield Rescue Row.
    The Vergennes Rowing Team was able to field 2 teams in each of the three divisions.
    In the Experienced Class the team of: Emily Weber, Bailey Dieterle, Josh Newton, Levi Baldwin, Eva Kammen, Malcolm Donovan Cook and exchange student Marianna Monteiro swamped their competition by more than 3 minutes on their way to finishing in first place. Vergennes’s other entry of Reggie Grady, Orion Chaput, Nick and Jacb LaFleche, Eli Martin, Courtney Morin, Madison Ask and Shawn Richards came in second.
    In the Intermediate Division Vergennes Rowers were once again dominate finishing second and fifth. The second place team consisted of Brianna Vanderwey, Bethany Delgadillo, Emily Jackson, Devon Coleman, Richmond Rathbun and Raven Duke.
    Then rounding out the day in the Novice Division Vergennes  took top honors with the team of Aidan Gardner, Holden Clark, Zeke Clark, Nathan DeVos and Alder Donovon-Cook Finishing 5th was the team of Sabine Webb, Kathyrn Wyckoff, Addie Brooks, Emily Brinkman and Maddison Valcourt.
    Next race for Vergennes HS will be the Head of the Weir held in Boston on 10/25.
