David R. Murray

On 10/2/2014 at 11:00 am there will be a Military Memorial Service for David R. Murray at the Weybridge Hill Cemetary, Weybridge, VT.

Janice J. Buckley

East Middlebury: Janice J. Buckley, 72, formerly of Bristol died Saturday afternoon September 20, 2014 at her residence after a brief illness.
Born April 1, 1942 in Greenfield, MA she was the daughter of the late Sumner D. and Nellie B. (King) Laraway.  She was a graduate of Bristol High School class of 1963.
    Janice was formerly an employee of Rutland Plywood and more recently a cook at J R’ s Eatery in Pittsford.  She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed fishing and crafts prior to her illness.
    Survivors are her children, Timothy P. Buckley of Rutland, April L. Buckley of Leicester and Kimberly S. Hodsdon of Atlantic City, NJ, brothers, Robert Laraway of Dartmouth, NH, Thomas Laraway of North Carolina and Lawrence Laraway of Rutland, sisters, Carol Champaine, Sandra Mansi and Veronica Aiken all of Bristol, by her grandchildren, Christine Dellveneri, Andrew Buckley and Tyler Hodsdon, by her great-granddaughter, Briahna Dellveneri Proctor.
    She was predeceased by her parents, a twin sister Janet Washburn, and long-time companion, Ralph Aiken.
    Graveside services weree held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 in Evergreen Cemetery, Pittsford.

Ernest William Lackard, Jr

WEYBRIDGE: Ernest William Lackard, Jr, age 80, died Friday, September 19, 2014, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
    Mr. Lackard was born in Vergennes on October 25, 1933. He was the son of Ernest and Marion (Dow) Lackard, Sr. He grew up in Vergennes where he received his early education and was a graduate of Vergennes High School, class of 1951, where he played basketball. Following his graduation he entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean Era. He afterwards served in the United Army for 2 active duty years and was honorable discharged a second time from the army reserves in 1959. He returned home and began his working career with his father operating Lackard’s Garage in Vergennes. On May 17, 1957 he married Bonnie Jean Masterson in Vergennes. Mrs. Lackard predeceased him on April 13, 2011. He later worked for 16 years at Standard Register in Middlebury. He had owned and operated Lackard’s Auto Body until his retirement in 2000. He was very talented with his hands and could make any tool needed in his shop. He also crafted furniture. He loved boating. In earlier years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to Middlebury Veterans of Foreign Wars, Middlebury American Legion Post #27 and had been active in the Vergennes Masonic Lodge.
    Surviving are 2 sons; Danny Lackard of Leicester and John Lackard of Weybridge, 2 daughters; Pam Randall of Ripton and Kathy Stiffler of Middlebury. 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. He was also predeceased by 2 sisters; Virginia Fisher and Ramona D’Avignon.
    The memorial service “In Celebration of His Life” was held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the Leicester Church of The Nazarene. The Rev. Phil Smith, pastor officiated. A private burial will take place, at a later date.
