While perusing through the booths at the Middlebury Farmer’s Market, one comes across a wonderful mixture of handmade wood products that are practical, whimsical and just plain old fun. It was nine years ago when Leicester resident Steve Eastman realized he could no longer work in his longtime career of truck driving and he, “made up his mind to get busy and get beyond his injury.” Eastman has always loved wood and wanted to have time to work with it and turned the basement in his home into his next career. The result is Vermont Made Creations which has a wonderful assortment of products that are unique and enhance the offerings of wood artisans in the area. Eastman started making small vehicles and names in wood and has branched out into products including extremely popular pull dogs and dream catchers. He works with soft pine, black walnut, maple and cedar and his works are currently only available at farmer’s markets around the area and by contacting him at [email protected] or at (802)779-7223. Grandson Isaac is currently working with the computer side of the business and plans for a website to be up and running soon. Come out and see for yourself what makes these products so much fun and talk to Steve and Isaac. You will be glad you did and have yet another reason to see the wonderful variety of products and people at all local Farmer’s Markets.
