Armand “Chickie” Marcoux

Armand “Chickie” Marcoux, age 71, died July 29, 2014, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
    Mr. Marcoux was born in Sudbury on June 11, 1943. He was the son of Antonio Armand Marcoux, Sr and Isabell (Geoguire) Marcoux. He grew up in Sudbury and in earlier years worked the family farm with his father. He was a veteran of the Vermont Army National Guard receiving his Honorable Discharge following 6 years of service. Chickie worked for several years for the Town of Sudbury and had also been the caretaker for the Sudbury area Cemeteries. He had also been employed by Clark’s Sawmill in Brandon, White Pigment in Florence. He has been a resident of Swanton for several years.
    Surviving is his son Paul Marcoux and his daughter, Kandie Mae Marcoux of Sudbury and a son Tony Woods of Swanton. 7 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers Raymond and Charlie Marcoux and a sister Jeannette White.
    The graveside committal service and burial, with Military Honors, will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2 PM at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; The American Heart Association, Vermont Division, 110 Main Street, Suite 203, Burlington, VT 05401.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

 

Louise Ann Bertrand

BENSON: Louise Ann Bertrand, 71, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at her home in Benson.
    Louise was born on Oct 29, 1942 in Middlebury, the daughter of Lucien and Estelle (Gibeault) Charron.  She spent her early years in Cornwall and attended elementary school there.  She graduated from Middlebury High School in 1960.
    Louise was formerly married to Ronald Bertrand.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and sewing.  She had been employed as a caregiver and worked for the former Addison House in Middlebury.
    Louise is survived by her sons, Timothy R. Bertrand and his partner, Becky Holbrook of Hubbardton, Jay J. Bertrand of Richmond, her daughters, Anne Cummings and her husband Dennis of Orwell and Sarah Hathaway and her husband Gerald of Benson, four grandchildren, Ashley Hathaway, Benson, Danielle Cummings, Orwell, Rachael Dubois, W. Rutland and Hilary Dubois, Benson, three sisters, Jeanette Wood, Raeford, NC, Regina Bigelow, Wallingford and Constance Cone, Morristown.   She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Charron and Dennis Charron, a sister, Claudette Quenneville and a grandson, Benjamin Cummings.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2014 in St. Paul’s Church in Orwell.  A graveside interment and burial service followed the Mass in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, VT Affiliate, 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
    Mallory Funeral Home, 4 South Park Place, Fair Haven, is handling the arrangements.
