Dorilla Marie Shepard

BRANDON: Dorilla Marie Shepard, age 100, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at The Pine at Rutland.
    Mrs. Shepard was born in East Man, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Joseph and Melina (Pocquette) Coulombe. She came to St. Albans in 1916, where she received her early education. In her earlier years she had worked as a store clerk at Woolworth’s in St. Albans. She later was employed at the William Doolin Company also in St. Albans. January 7, 1940 she married Lawrence K. (Joe) Shepard at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Burlington. They had made their home in Brandon since 1955 moving here from St. Albans. Mr. Shepard predeceased her March 19, 1993. She had also worked at Brown’s Pharmacy in Brandon for several years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and formerly of Court Our Lady of Good Help Catholic Daughters of America.
    Surviving is her son Wayne L. and his wife Patricia Shepard of Lawrenceville, GA.   Grandchildren Jeffrey Shepard and his wife Rebecca and great grandchildren Megan & Kenny of Pinehurst, NC, Joseph Shepard and his wife Kristin and great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ashley and Benjamin of Lawrenceville, GA .  In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her daughter; Norma Jean Shepard, brothers Paul Coulombe and Arsene Coulombe, 3 sisters; Florida Menard of Pittsfield, MA, Yvonne Giroux of Adams, MA and Helen Coulombe of Northfield, VT.
    A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19th 2014, at 10 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Ruel Tumangday will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial will follow, in the family lot, at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Following the ceremony the family will receive friends back at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, for a time of remembrance.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to St. Mary’s Church Restoration Fund, 38 Carver Street, Brandon, VT 05733.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

Dean S. Desjadon

Shoreham: Dean S. Desjadon 63, died early Thursday morning July 10, 2014 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington after a brief illness.
    Born April 24, 1951 in Middlebury he was the son of the late Warren and Deanetta (Gallison) Desjadon. He was raised in Orwell and was a graduate of Fair Haven Union High School class of 1969.
    Dean married his high school sweetheart Patricia Carriere June 26, 1971 at Our Lady of Seven Dolor’s Catholic Church, Fair Haven.
    He was employed as the operations manager for Casella Waste Management Inc. in the Middlebury Plant.
    Dean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Middlebury and the Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight. He enjoyed teaching Catechism with his wife and was very involved in the community with the chamber of commerce, annual Knights of Columbus auction. Dean was a hard worker and instilled this into his children and he believed in giving back to his community. Most important to Dean was being Poppa to his grandchildren, he also enjoyed taking rides with his wife in his 1994 Mustang where they would get in and put on their Casella caps and drive.
    Survivors are his wife Patricia (Carriere) Desjadon of Shoreham, his children, Michael Desjadon and wife Leslie of Ballston Lake, NY, Danielle Sunderland and husband Rick of Shoreham and Julie Marsden and husband Robert of Castleton, by his sisters, Etta Aines and husband Donald of Sudbury and Ellie Arnold and husband David of Inverness, FL, by his grandchildren, Logan, Sergei, Kyle and Marek  Desjadon, Deanetta Putnam and Kassidy Sunderland, Reilly and Chloe Marsden. Also by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday July 14, 2014 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Middlebury, with the Rev. William R. Beaudin as the Celebrant.
Burial followed in St. Genevieve Cemetery, Shoreham.
    Memorial contributions may be made to a local food shelter or to the American Cancer Society at 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495 or to a charity of one’s choice.
