EUNICE HILDA BROWN

ORWELL: Eunice Hilda Brown, age 84, died Saturday, May 3, 2014, at her home in Orwell.
   Mrs. Brown was born in Leicester on July 25, 1929. She was the daughter of Raymond and Lillian (Merrill) Martin. Eunice graduated from Rutland High School, class of 1947. She had worked at the Economy Department Store in Rutland is the accounting office. August 4, 1955 she married Arthur Brown in east Poultney. They had made their home in Forestdale since 1957. Mr. Brown predeceased her March 18, 2002. She had worked for Rollers By Baker in Forestdale for over 10 years and later at Tucel Industries for over 15 years. She moved to Orwell 2012 and made her home with her sister and brother-in-law. Eunice loved hunting & fishing. She enjoyed knitting and embroidery.
   She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, who were also her care providers; Joan & Francis Bradish of Orwell and Carol Martin of Leicester, a special niece, Brenda Jones and a special nephew, Raymond Bradish. Several other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. She was also predeceased by an infant brother.
   The funeral service was held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church will officiate. The graveside committal service and burial will follow in the family lot, in Forestdale Cemetery.
  Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; the Orwell First Response Squad, Orwell, VT 05760 or to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 765, Middlebury, VT 05753.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

 

WARREN LEE LEWIS

LUDLOW: Warren Lee Lewis, age 19, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Springfield Hospital.
   Mr. Lewis was born in Rutland on October 16, 1994. He grew up in Ludlow where he received his early education and had attended Black River High School. He had worked for Winter Place on Okemo Mountain in the winter. He logged in summer months. He had also worked as a carpenter’s helper for Josselyn Brothers in Ludlow. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed snowboarding and skate boarding, and had ridden with Southwestern Freedom Riders of Vermont motorcycle club.
   Surviving is his parents; Elizabeth & Gus Ayer of Ludlow, 2 sisters; Amy Lewis of Rutland and Amber Euber of Ludlow, his brother, Brian Lewis, Jr of North Clarendon, his grandparents; Allen & Patti Ayer of Brandon and Marit & Lee Lewis of Rutland and his biological father; Brian Lewis, Sr, of Springfield. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Warren & Evelyn Euber.
   The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10 AM, at the Forestdale Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Samuel Morse of Farmington, ME will officiate. Following the ceremony the family will receive friends at Brandon American Legion Post #55, for a time of fellowship & remembrance.
A private burial will take place, in Brookside Cemetery in Leicester.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; a charity organization for the community called; Southwest Freedom Riders, P.O. Box 735, Rutland, VT 05702.
