Marjorie Lillian Knight

MIDDLEBURY - Marjorie Lillian Knight, age 96, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Pines of Rutland.
   Mrs. Knight was born in Shoreham on July 15, 1917. She was the daughter of James and Lillian Barry. She grew up in Shoreham where she received her early education. June 1, 1938 she married Bert Eugene Knight in Middlebury. They had formerly made their home in Cornwall and acNew Haven before moving to Middlebury in July 1957. In her earlier years she had worked as an apple picker in orchards in Shoreham and Cornwall. She was an animal lover, loved to cook and was an avid bingo player.
   Surviving is her daughter; Carolyn Kay Bride of Forestdale. 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert Knight in July 2000, her son Allen Knight in 1982, a brother Buster Barry and 2 sisters; Violet Mumblo and Sadie Taylor.
A private memorial service “In Celebration of Her Life” will be held at a later date.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Addison County Humane Society, 234 Boardman Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

Lawrence James “Jimmy” LaDue

BRISTOL: Lawrence James “Jimmy” LaDue, age 79, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014; while on vacation; at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.
    Mr. LaDue was born in Richford, VT on July 19, 1934. He was the son of Fred and Beatrice (Stanhope) LaDue. Mr. LaDue was a former resident of the Brandon Training School. He enjoyed riding and summer weather.
    Surviving is a sister; Marion Roberts of Windsor, his care provider’s Charlotte Pelkey of Bristol, and Morgan Brown of Salisbury, his case manager, Trudy Booska of Brandon and his guardian Linda Vondle of Shoreham. He was predeceased by his parents and several siblings.
    A memorial service “In Celebration of His Life” will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 12 Noon, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Rev. Robert Bove, pastor of the Brandon Baptist Church will officiate.
    A private burial will take place in the spring, at Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
