Lucille Mary Chamberland Parker

DADE CITY, FL: Lucille Mary Chamberland Parker, age 83; a former Brandon and Sudbury resident; died Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Bayfront Medical Center, in Dade City, FL.
   Mrs. Parker was born in Clarendon on April 27, 1930. She was the daughter of George and Anna (Baker) Kilburn. She received her early education in local Clarendon schools and was graduated from Brandon High School class of 1948. Following graduation she worked as a secretary at the Ayrshire Breeders Association for 5 years. On September 16, 1953 she married Ernest Chamberland in Williamsburg, VA. Mr. Chamberland predeceased her February 2, 1987. She had owned and operated Chamberland’s Sporting Goods in Brandon for over 35 years. She enjoyed arts and crafts. She loved knitting and crocheting and had donated many items for R.S.V.P. She played the piano and accordion. She was a past member of the Sudbury Ladies Circle and belonged to Marble Valley Camping Group. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. She and her husband retired to Dade City in 2011.
   She is survived by her husband; Thomas W. Parker of Dade City, FL; whom she married in Brandon on August 3, 1996, 2 sons; Albert W. Chamberland of Coventry, RI and Eugene G. Chamberland of Addison, a daughter Dale M. Chamberland of Missoula, MT, a step son, Roderick Parker of Lake Wales, FL and a step daughter Janine Parker of Orwell. 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, 1 step great, great grandson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. In addition to her first husband she was also predeceased by a daughter, Maria L. Stone in April 2008. 3 sisters; Marjorie Whitcomb, Ida Ingalls and Geneva Ingalls also predeceased her.
   The funeral service will be held in the spring at Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The graveside committal service and burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. There are no public calling hours.
   Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; St. Mary’s Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 38 Carver St, Brandon, VT or to the Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.

Edith Louise Ryan

OCALA, FL: Edith Louise Ryan, age 78, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Legacy Hospice House in Ocala, Florida.
    Mrs. Ryan was born in Orwell on July 30, 1935. She was the daughter of Milo and Marjorie (Allen) Lilly. She grew up in Orwell where she received her early education.
    Mrs. Ryan was a mother and homemaker for her 8 children. She had beautiful vegetable and flower gardens which were her pride and joy at her home in Whiting. She loved to walk in the woods with her children pointing out all of the wildflowers. She enjoyed arts and crafts and crocheting. She has been a resident of Ocala since 2003 moving there from Corinth, NY.
    Surviving is her children; Marilyn Evans of Ocala, FL, Rebecca Ryan of Essex Junction, Deborah Sheldrick of Middlebury, Patrick Ryan of Ocala, FL, Marjorie Laughlin of St. Albans, Patricia Shackleford of East Middlebury, Barbara Kallen of Rutland, and Michael Ryan of Middlebury, 2 brothers, Richard Lilly of Bridport and Carl Lilly of Orwell and her sister, Harriet Vail of New Lebanon, NY.  15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by 2 sisters; Charlene Miller and Judy Goulet, 3 grandsons and her former husband; Robert Edward Ryan.
    The graveside committal service and burial will take place, in the spring, at Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell.
There are no public calling hours.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
