Daniel George Dubois

Daniel George Dubois, age 32, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
   Dan was born in Middlebury on August 21, 1981. He was the son of Robert and Gail (Blair) Dubois. He grew up in Orwell where he received his early education and was graduated from Fair Haven Union High School, class of 2000. He afterwards attended Plymouth State University for 2 years studying business and accounting. He played all 4 years of high school, as a member of the football team. He played linebacker for the defense and half back for the offense. Following college he had worked as a roofer for Champlain Valley Roofing and later worked at Cabot Cheese in Middlebury. His joined the staff at Middlebury College just a year ago, as a Heating Plant Operator. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was also an active men’s league softball player.
   He is survived by his parents; Robert and Gail Dubois of Middlebury, his maternal grandmother, Barbara Blair and paternal grandmother, Madeleine Dubois both of Orwell. A niece, a nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his grandfathers; Charles Blair and George Dubois and his only brother James Robert Dubois.
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 9:30 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. The Rev. William Beaudin, pastor will be the celebrant. Following the mass the family will receive friends downstairs in the church for a time of fellowship & remembrance.
    A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell.

   Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
