Vermont Lions once again have stepped up to the plate to help fund activities for deaf and hard of hearing children, hearing siblings and children with deaf parents, at the Green Mountain Lions Camp held each summer on the campus of the Austine School For The Deaf in Brattleboro. According to the camp’s website the summer days are “filled with swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, games, scavenger hunts, and fireside chats.” Members of the Middlebury Lions and guests from Vergennes Lions gathered on Monday January 20, 2014 as District Governor Tommy Walz presented this year’s check to fellow Lions and past graduates of Austine; S. Keith Payne and Wayne “Pat” Broughton. Lions continue to lead the way with their hard work and generosity and currently number 1.4 million world wide.
