Judy Ann Marshall

MIDDLEBURY, - Judy Ann Marshall passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2014, after a nearly year long battle with lung cancer, which she fought bravely.
   Born in Middlebury on February 1, 1957, she was the youngest of seven children. She is survived by her parents, Cary and Joyce Marshall, and her siblings and their spouses - Gary and Beverlee Huffman, Dale and Erma Marshall, Karen Marshall and Linda Quinn, Peggy Cobb, Cary and Rhonda Marshall, Jr., and Nils Whittelsey and Jenne Morton. She is also survived by her children, Malissa and Mark, and her grandchildren, Henry and Ethan.
   Judy attended Middlebury Union High School and worked for years at BF Goodrich. More recently she held several different jobs, including working for Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and Dakin Farm, delivering Burlington Free Press newspapers, and running her own lawn mowing business. She was known as a very hard worker.
   When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved Jack Russell Terriers (Katie, Cocoa, and Chase), going for motorcycle rides, and helping others.  She was a loyal friend and family member.
   A visitation was held Friday, January 10, 2014 at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street Middlebury.
Funeral  services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Middlebury. The Rev. Lee Atkins will officiate.
   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's honor to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 754Route 7, Middlebury, VT 05753 or Homeward Bound, 236 Boardman St., Middlebury, VT 05753.

Clesson Edwin “Teddy” Hayes

FORESTDALE, VT / DADE CITY, FL: Clesson Edwin “Teddy” Hayes, Jr, age 75, died Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City, FL. He was a former resident of Rutland Town.
    Mr. Hayes was born in Brandon on April 25, 1938. He was the son of Clesson “Ted” Hayes, Sr, and Ellen (Hayes) Hayes. He grew up in Forestdale where he received his early education. He graduated from Brandon High School, class of 1958. He afterwards served in the United States Army as a member of the Military Police. Following his honorable discharge he returned home and began a career with General Electric. He retired as a machinist in 1997 following 33 years of service. He liked working with his hands and took great pride in his marksmanship abilities. He enjoyed his R.V.,  N.A.S.C.A.R., the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a New York Yankee’s fan. Teddy was a man who made friends every where he traveled and really enjoyed meeting other Vermonters in R.V. parks. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
    Surviving is his wife; Emily (Galvin) Hayes of Dade City; whom he married at the Salisbury Congregational Church on May 14, 1966, his daughter Laura Hayes of Brookline, MA, his mother Ellen Hayes of Forestdale, 2 sisters, Donna Hayes of Forestdale and Penny Wheatley of Swanton. He was predeceased by his father and his brother; Terry F. Hayes.
    The graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will take place, in the Spring, at Forestdale Cemetery.
   Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
