2014 A High-Spirited Vigorous Year For Adventure!

By Lydia Solini (www.AstrologyByLydia.com)

Expect 2014 to be a high-spirited, vigorous year offering opportunities for adventure.  Although we won’t see dramatic changes or upheavals we will see erratic events, brisk trading and volatile emotions, which can make this a reckless time for some and a time of advancement for others.  Listen to your senses, take risks on your dreams, make changes and follow your intuition.  Living life to the fullest may net some big rewards.
Energy and action characterize this year and if you have strong intuition you may be blessed with success when following it, for others who are more practical, rely on those who use intuition for getting ahead.
The pace is fast so don’t lag when it comes to taking action or making decisions, many projects can get off the ground now, and we will tend to drive ourselves to the point of exhaustion as we gain rewards.
Those in retail could find this a year of great consumerism which can mean a marked increase in business and commercial activity in world markets.  Expect the clothing industry to boom, as well as, athletic equipment, gym memberships, breweries, and sports car manufacturing.  Also, booming will be the travel and leisure industry; outdoor pursuits and physical exercise; since we will need to periodically let off steam from the taxing activities of 2014, travel will increase and vacations that offer adventure in exotic locales will prosper.
The planning of last year is now shoved aside for impulse and self confidence which dictates the actions of people and countries.  The world, though in a harried and shifting state, will not change much during 2014, and the powers that be are more likely to remain the same.  Industry, production and the world’s economy will be on the upswing.  Tempers may be a bit frayed in areas of diplomacy and politics, but the status quo will prevail.
The practicality of last year should still be employed and considered in all you do, as a common sense approach towards money and business along with intuition creates an exciting triangle when it comes to increasing wealth.  Stop wondering and start a business if you have been waiting, expect movement and freedom to be the theme of this year.  Be brave, bold and shocking!
Government administration maybe more botched that usual, though.  Waste on a national scale may bring scandals about and are highly likely.  Spending though on the increase at this time should be put into perspective to ensure that expenditures do not overreach budgets; whether personal or governmental.  The economy is still a bit unstable; due to bad management and unemployment; which may lead to wild fluctuations in fortunes; which may lead to more spending and borrowing.  It doesn’t mean money won’t be flowing in; but we shouldn’t spend it as fast as we get it!
Since the job market is still changing and automation still a problem; we should start choosing jobs that computers can’t possibly do; because over the next 10 years the jobs that are already diminishing because of computers and automation will be almost completely wiped out; with some foresight and planning we will avoid massive unemployment.  Trades such as electrician, plumber, builder/remodeling and the like will never be replaced by computers; and there are many other fields that don’t have nearly enough applicants these will be on the rise while banking and any field that can be automated will be diminished.  Science and mathematics are in need of applicants; an example of this is that many doctors come from overseas to fulfill the increasing need in the United States.
Expanded events and inventions will fall under the subjects of Astronomy and Science; new scientific discoveries relating to the human body, wellness and anti-aging are possible.
With Jupiter in Cancer since July, 2013 expansion within the US economy will continue to grow, increases in our currency values and our statue grows exponentially.  Security in financial markets is greater as is property and real estate values.  We will be focusing on our security and stability during the first six months of the year, which means that it is an opportune time to save and invest.  We will also see an increase in businesses in all areas of the US economy, ushering in great growth.  The last six months Jupiter enters Leo and remains there until well after December 2014; this transit will increase property values even further, as well as home buying, commercial business buying and property improvement on all levels.
Civil and political unrest abroad throughout the Middle East and Africa will give rise to protests, riots and disgruntlement.  Governments will continue to be engaged in conflict as dissidents try to uproot those in power.  There will be continued violence and turbulence.  The hard aspects of transiting Uranus and Pluto tend to intensify the disparity between the masses of people who feel they are being unfairly treated and those in authority who are urgently trying to stay in power and to suppress the people and their wants again this year.  The focus on freedom and the desire for equality will continue in 2014.  Immigration concerns will intensify around the globe as people escape oppressed and combative countries seeking work and safety.  Countries will still need to address immigration around the world.
Weather conditions will still be a problem around the world as storms become more erratic and unpredictable.  Neptune in Pisces will continue to stir up issues around flooding with unexpected hurricanes, tornadoes, monsoons and storms affecting our environment.
Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn continues throughout 2014 and will create greater interest in safety and security, especially in the area of identity protection, the United States may adapt credit cards with chips rather than magnetic strips, privacy issues will also be addressed more thoroughly and laws changed.  The debt crisis will continue to be a problem worldwide as governments try to constructively deal with their debt.
Saturn and Pluto ushered in a greater need for psychological understanding and a more definitive approach to mental illness in 2013 and will continue in 2014.  New laws and guidelines are possible in the treatment of mental illness and its effect on society as a whole.
After, July 4, 2014, Independence Day, the United States enters a time of greater efficiency and productivity.  Evaluations are made and unnecessary practices are dispensed with; inventories are taken, things come to an end, and the trend towards change and adjustment is continued.  Great compassion toward others ushers in a new time of connection.
Mercury will Retrograde (go backwards) three times in the New Year.  This is not usually a cause for concern unless your natal Mercury is conjunct, squared, or opposing transiting Mercury.  The first Retrograde will happen February 6 to the 27 when Mercury will retrograde in Pisces and than Aquarius.  The second Retrograde will occur on June 7 to the 30 when Mercury will retrograde in Cancer and than Gemini.  The third Retrograde will happen October 4 to the 24 when Mercury will retrograde in Scorpio and than in Libra.
Venus will Retrograde (go backwards) in Capricorn on January 1 to the 30.  During this Capricorn retrograde all Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and especially Capricorn) will need to consider their security as it relates to real estate, and career goals carefully to avoid problems.  From January 31 to the end of 2014 Venus is moving in direct motion.
Mars will Retrograde (go backwards) one time in 2014.  Mars will be transiting Libra from January 1 to July 25, 2014.  From March 1 until May 19 it will be retrograding back and forth in Libra.  Mars moves into Scorpio on July 26 to September 13.  Mars moves into Sagittarius on September 14 to October 25.  Mars moves into Capricorn on October 26 to December 4.  Mars moves into Aquarius on December 5 and stays well past December 31, 2014.  As with all transits of Mars it is a time when we want to take action, make decisions and take risks; do so cautiously when Mars is transiting your Sun or Moon.
Jupiter continues its transit in Cancer and Retrogrades (go backwards) from January 1 to March 5 than travels in direct motion until July 25, 2014.  During this time all the Cardinal Sun signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will need to expand their viewpoints as it relates to their identity while balancing their relationship needs.  Jupiter enters Leo on July 26, 2014 and stays in direct motion until December 8; when it Retrogrades (go backwards) in Leo, until well past the end of 2014.  The emphasis during this cycle is on all the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) with the greatest benefits coming from an enlarged viewpoint and a willingness to make changes and to let go of outgrown beliefs, reaching out to others also benefits our fixed friends.
Saturn continues in Scorpio until December 23, 2014.  It will retrograde on in Scorpio on March 2 until July 19.  At this time all the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) will be concerned with evaluating their lives.
Uranus is still transiting Aries and continues well beyond 2014.  It will retrograde in Aries from July 22 to December 20 while in Aries.  This transit may help all the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) because it brings possibility and movement which is something Cardinal signs enjoy and helps lessen the nervous energy they naturally possess.
Neptune continues in Pisces will remain well beyond 2014.  It will be retrograde in Pisces from June 9 to November 15.  This very extensive transit will have impact on the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).  This will be a time a great reflection and insight which may lead to a greater inner understanding and of choosing a new direction.  Because this is a very long transit the effects will be subtle but still relevant.
As we move forward into the New Year it is my hope that you will feel adventurous, intuitively guided, and confident to pursue your goals and extend a hand to those who are less fortunate.  Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
