Shirley A. Bartosiewicz

LEICESTER: Shirley A. Bartosiewicz, age 67, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
    Mrs. Bartosiewicz was born in Montreal, Canada on December 29, 1945. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Rollie (Leary) Damant. She has been a resident of Leicester for the past 36 years. She had worked for many years at the Cortina Inn in Mendon. She was an avid outdoor person, particularly enjoying Native American Culture and traditions. She enjoyed crafts and more especially found time for motorcycling, visiting with friends and loving her grandchildren.
    She is survived by her husband, Dennis “Bart” Bartosiewicz of Leicester, 2 sons; Richard Carroll of Leicester and Stephen Carroll of Southington, CT, a sister Carol Lamarche of Lachaute, Canada. 6 grandchildren, a great grandchild and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her.
    The memorial service “In Celebration of Her Life” was held on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Brandon American Legion Post #55.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

 

David Martin Cyr

SHOREHAM: David Martin Cyr, age 69, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
    Mr. Cyr was born in Morristown, NJ on March 3, 1944. He was the son of Martin and Florence (Ford) Cyr. He came to Salisbury with his family in 1945 where he received his early education. He was graduated from Middlebury High School, class of 1962. He had worked as a machine operator for Polymers Plastics in East Middlebury for over 30 years. He later was employed as a quarryman for Gawet’s Marble. He had been a volunteer at Fair Haven Rescue Squad for several years. He was forced to retire due to a disability in 1998. He enjoyed country music, bird watching, NASCAR and old western movies.
    Surviving is his wife Ida Durkee Cyr of Shoreham; whom he married in Orwell on August 7, 1963, his son David C. Cyr and a daughter Melissa Ann Cyr both of Shoreham, his step children; Garrett, Kayla, Alexis and Addison Given also of Shoreham, and a sister, Ruth Galvin of Bristol. 3 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 10 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Ruel Tumangday will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Leicester. Following the ceremony the family will receive friends back at St. Mary’s Church Hall, for a reception in his memory.
    Friends may call at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 5-7 PM.
     Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.

Roberta Anne Kupfer

BRANDON: Roberta Anne Kupfer, age 88, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the home of her care provider in Brandon.

    Ms: Kupfer was born in Forestdale on March 19, 1925. She was the daughter of Louis and Elsie (Devino) Kupfer. She has been a life long resident of the Brandon area. In her earlier years she enjoyed riding her bicycle around the streets of her neighborhood. She loved her visits to Disney World in Florida with her best friend, and had just visited again this past September.
    Surviving is her brother; Chester J. Kupfer of Minot, ND, her best friend and service coordinator Trudy Booska, and her care provider’s, Sharon Knapp and Nicole Fischer. Several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Lorraine M. Kupfer and a brother, Guilford L. Kupfer.
    The graveside committal service and burial took place on Monday, November 11, 2013, at 10 AM, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brandon. The Rev. Ruel Tumangday, Administrator at St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated.
    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; St. Mary’s Church Restoration Fund, 38 Carver Street, Brandon, VT 05733.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
