Donna J. Lawton  

BRIDPORT-Donna J. Lawton, 60, of Bridport died Monday evening June 3, 2013 at her home surrounded by her  loving family and under the care of hospice. Arrangements are under the direction Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.

She was born on December 23, 1952 in Middlebury, VT the daughter of the late Donald and Mildred  (Phelps) Goodrich.   She was a graduate of Middlebury High School class of 1971 and Champlain  College.  In 1979 she married Henry Lawton in Salisbury.  She worked as a dispatcher for the Vermont  State Police and the Middlebury Police Department.  Most recently she worked as an administrative  assistant for the Vermont State Police.    She also helped her husband operate their family farm,  Champlain Acres in Bridport.   She enjoyed gardening and knitting, she had a love for small animals.   

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Henry Lawton, her sons; Matt Lawton of Bridport and Mike Lawton of  Bridport and his companion Ashli Latreille.  She is survived by her daughter Kristy Whipple and her  husband Rob of Bridport.  She is survived by her grandchildren Melyssa Lawton, Katherine Erin and  Alexis Whipple and soon to be born Molly Lawton.   She is survived by her brother, Ernie Goodrich  and his wife Leann of Salisbury, her sisters Debbie Goodrich of Salisbury and Penny Supernaw and her  husband Scott of Salisbury.

   She was predeceased by her parents Donald ‘’ Chief’’ Goodrich and Mildred Goodrich as well as an infant sister Roxanne Goodrich.

  A memorial service wase held on Sunday June 9, 2013 at Middlebury Congregational Church. with Rev. Gary Lewis officiating.  Burial  followed the memorial service in the West Salisbury  Cemetery.   

   The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Nunnick, his wife Patty and staff.

Edith Mae McKeighan

Edith Mae McKeighan, age 79, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.  

Mrs. McKeighan was born May 3, 1934 in Underhill, the daughter of Kenneth and Doris  (Lyons) Alger.  She moved with her familty to Brandon in 1941and  graduated from  Brandon High School in 1952.  She and George W. McKeighan were married in Brandon  on August 1, 1952 in Brandon.  

   Mrs. McKeighan was a life long homemaker who was devoted to her family.  She  
enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cross word puzzles.  She was a former member of the  Ladies Auxiliary of Post 55, American Legion in Brandon.

   She is survived by her children, Dennis McKeighan and his wife, Sarah, Leicester,
Barry McKeighan and his wife, Nancy, Brandon, Paul McKeighan and his wife, Ildiko,  Brandon, Wanda Perron and her husband, Kevin, Brandon and Cathy Rawson and  her husband, Michael, Brandon, a sister, Elaine Bissette, Brandon, 13 grandchildren,  9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her beloved cats, Phoebe and Lizzy.  

   Mrs. McKeighan was predeceased by her husband on April 25, 2009. her parents and a  brother, Wendell Alger.

   The funeral was conducted in the Brandon First Congregational  Church.  A graveside service and burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon. A time of fellowship, remembrance and a luncheon will be held afterwards in the Brandon Congregational Church Fellowship Hall Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Brandon Rescue Squad,

Paul Kenneth LaDuke

BURLINGTON: Paul Kenneth LaDuke, age 69, died, surrounded by his family on, Thursday, June 06, 2013, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.

    Mr. LaDuke was born in Sudbury on January 12, 1944, the son of Kenneth and Marion (Euber) LaDuke. He grew up on the family farm in Sudbury and received his early education in local schools. He later attended the school for the deaf in Rutland. He had trained in Virginia in woodworking and upholstery. Mr. LaDuke had worked for I.B.M in Essex as a Collator in the printing office, a position he held for over 25 years. He was forced to retire due to a disability in 1994. He had been a volunteer at Addison County Humane Society for several years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the farm, his computer and watching old western movies.

    Surviving is his daughter Sara LaDuke and a son Adam LaDuke both of Milton, his mother Marion LaDuke of Sudbury, a brother Chris LaDuke of Shoreham, 4 sisters Brenda Wade of North Petersburg, NY, Arlene Jackman of Vergennes, Elaine LaDuke and Kim LaDuke both of Sudbury. Many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his father; Kenneth LaDuke, a sister Barbara Cummings and a brother James LaDuke.

    The graveside committal service and burial will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 2 PM, in the family lot, at Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell. The Rev. Dwayne Somero will officiate. Friends may call preceding the service at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon, on Tuesday, June 11, from 11 AM until 1 PM.

    The family wishes to thank Vermont Respite House and Fletcher Allen for their wonderful care and support.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; The Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Road, Williston, VT 05495.

Harry Leonard Forrest

BRANDON: Harry Leonard Forrest, age 78, died April 19, 2013, at Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida.

    Mr. Forrest was born in Weybridge, VT on April 24, 1934. He was the son of Arthur and Verna (Phillips) Forrest. Following his high school graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 22 years. Following his honorable discharge he moved to Maine and joined the Limestone, ME Police Department. He served many years in various capacities including, under cover agent work. He afterwards moved to Brandon where he worked at the Brandon Training School. After retiring he and his wife spent winters in Florida and their summers in Vermont. He was a member of Brandon American Legion Post #55, St. Paul’s Masonic Lodge; where he had served as Master of The Lodge, Cairo Shrine Temple serving as Captain of the Cycle Corps. He enjoyed parades in which he rode his Harley with the Shrine Cycle Corps. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. He loved spending time with family and friends at cookouts and played a mean harmonica.

    Surviving is his wife Barbara (Dubois) Forrest; whom he married June 24, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV; 3 son’s; David Forrest of Brandon, Scott Forrest of Lincoln and Mike Forrest of California; 3 stepdaughters, Sheryl Kimball of Bristol, Donna Forrest of Brandon and Cathy Bird of Forestdale, 2 brothers; Harold Forrest and Roger Forrest both of Brandon, a sister; Shirley Lamoureux of Brandon, his former wife and mother of his children; Virginia Cornell of Mechanicsville, NY, 7 grandchildren; Heather Burt, Jeremy & Courtney Forrest, Wendy & Samantha Gilmore, Michael & Heidi Forrest and Ashlee Bird, 9 great grandchildren; Kenneth, Isaac, Hailey, Sammy, Charlie, William, Maria, Dominic and Danien. Several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him as well as a host of friends in Vermont & Florida. He was predeceased by a son Jeff Forrest, a sister Joyce Forrest and 2 brothers Walter and Robert Forrest.

Respecting his wishes there will be no funeral service at this time.
