Kathleen White Brown

BURLINGTON-Kathleen M. Brown, 84, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Fletcher allen health care.

She was born in Panton on July 1, 1943, the daughter of Warren E. and Bessie (Fish) White.

   She married Robert Brown in January 1943 and they raised four children, three of whom survive: Donald Brown of Burlington, Diane Brown of Panton and Barbara Bilodeau of Pensacola, Florida. Several grand and great grandchildren, especially Amy Gokey who gave her abundant T.L.C. she also leaves a large extended family.

   She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Margaret Cota and all her siblings: Floyd, Harmon, Irwin and Dewey White and sister, Blanche Bushee.

   Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 30 at 2p.m. at the Elmwood Memorial Funeral Home with interment following in Kent Cemetery, Panton. Those wishing may send memorial contributions to: American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, Va, 22312

Leonard “Lenny” Guilford Pearson

BRANDON: Leonard “Lenny” Guilford Pearson, age 70, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at his home in Brandon.

    Mr. Pearson was born in Williston on July 11, 1942. He was the son of Thomas and Anna (Shonio) Pearson; Sr. He grew up in Williston where he received his education in local schools. He had work on several area farms in Williston and Middlesex in his earlier years. He entered the United States Army in January 1962 and served in Europe. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Vermont and made his home in Montpelier. He worked for several years at The Lobster Pot Restaurant. He came to Florence in the 1960’s and worked at White Pigment as a miller until 1978. He joined the staff at General Electric in 1978 as an inspector of military aircraft parts. He retired in 2008 as a quality control inspector following 30 years of service. He was a member of Brandon American Post #55 where he was very active having served in various positions including Sgt. at Arms. He enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening and taking care of his property. He loved spending time with his family especially spending time with his grandchildren.

    Surviving is his wife; Judy Pearson of Brandon; whom he married in Buffalo, NY on September 19, 1964, 2 daughters; Julie Ann Johnston & her husband Scott of Gainesville, FL, Tammy Sue Pearson of Brandon, 2 sons; Mike S. Pearson and his wife Melinda of Brandon and Randy L. Pearson and his wife Karen of North Clarendon, his sister Katherine Truman of Lebanon, NH, 4 brothers; Wayne Pearson of Ravena, NY, Thomas Pearson of Hickory, NC, Theron Paul Pearson of Rutland and Kenneth Pearson of Montpelier. 6 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents and 2 brothers Leroy “Joe” Pearson and Clifton Pearson and a sister Joan Milford.

    The funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at The Brandon Congregational Church. The Rev. Richard White, pastor officiated. A private graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, followed in Riverside Cemetery in New Haven.

Philomena “Phyllis”  Wiechniak

BRANDON: Philomena “Phyllis”  Wiechniak, age 97, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Rutland Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rutland, VT.

    Mrs. Wiechniak was born in Worcester, Mass, on May 22, 1915. She was the daughter of Giuseppe and Lucia (Cancella) Mancinni. She grew up in Worcester where she received her early education. Mrs. Wiechniak was a housewife, homemaker and mother.

    Surviving is 2 son’s; Anthony J. Schiavone of Worcester, Mass, and Joseph N. Arduca of Brandon, VT, with whom she had made her home; 4 daughters Josephine Alloco of Keystone Heights, FL, Connie Lessard of Spencer, Mass, Phyllis Parslow of Leicester,  Mass and Barbara Troy of Holden, Mass; 4 sisters; Amelia Belcufine of Arizona, Angie Burdick of Clinton, Mass, Lucy Donisvitch of Auburn, Mass and Rita Smith of Webster, Mass;. 20 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her first husband; Angelo Schiavone, her second husband; Nicholas Arduca and her late husband, Benjamin Wiechniak, a daughter Lucy Grudzinski and 2 brothers; Barney and Justin Mancinni and 1 granddaughter.

   A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in the family lot at, Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, Mass.

  Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; The Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.
