GUILFORD “GIL” LOUIS KUPFER

LEICESTER: Guilford “Gil” Louis Kupfer, age 86, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at
Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
Mr. Kupfer was born in Forestdale on December 30, 1926. He grew up in Forestdale
and Brandon where he received his early education. He was graduated from
Brandon High School, class of 1944. He afterwards served in the United States
Army. Following his honorable discharge in 1946 he returned home and worked for
the Town of Brandon on the Highway Crew. He began a career with Welden Coal
in 1948 and worked the next 40 years as a Service Technician until retiring in 1988.
Being the outgoing personable individual that he was and loving to interact with
people; he then went back to work in the custodial department at Middlebury College
and finally retired from Dowty Electronics in Brandon in 1993. He was communicant
of St. Mary’s Church in Brandon and St. Agnes Church in Leicester. He belonged
to Brandon American Legion Post #55. He was an avid Numismaticist. He enjoyed
gardening, fishing and puzzles.
Surviving is his wife; Eleanor “Desjadon” Kupfer of Leicester; whom he married
on August 14, 1948; 2 daughters Laura Driscoll of Proctor and Pamela Gates of
Indianapolis, IN; 2 sons Ronald Kupfer of Brandon, FL and Michael Kupfer of
Leicester, his sister Roberta Kupfer of Forestdale and his brother Chester J. Kupfer
of Minot, ND. 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren also survive him.
A private graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will take
place, at a later date, in Brookside Cemetery in Leicester.
There are no public calling hours.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; The Brandon Area
Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in
Brandon.

Thomas Joseph Brutkoski

BRANDON-Thomas Joseph Brutkoski, age 66, died early Wednesday, April 17, 2013,
at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Brutkoski was born in Proctor on October 27, 1946. He was the son of Herman
and Mary (Kamuda) Brutkoski. He received his early education in local Brandon
schools and had attended Otter Valley Union High School. He enjoyed reading,
puzzles, loved NASCAR, going camping and parting with family and friends.
Survivors include 2 sisters; Joanne Gokey & her husband Robert Scarborough of
Brandon and Sharron A. Brutkoski of Leicester, 2 brothers; Joe T. Brutkoski & his
wife Cheryl of Brandon and Charles E. Brutkoski of Lincoln, his care providers;
Melissa & Steven Williams of Bomoseen. Many nieces, nephews & cousins also
survive him. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John H. Brutkoski.
A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in
the family lot at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brandon. The Rev. Ruel Tumangday, pastor
of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate.Calling hours are private.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; The American
Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 45 Swift Street, South Burlington, VT 05403.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in
Brandon.
