VUHS Boys Basketball Wins Div II State Title Undefeated With 24-0 Season

The Barre Memorial Auditorium was rocking the foundation when the undefeated Vergennes Varsity Boys Basketball Team ended a fairytale season with a 62-49 win over Burr and Burton. Emotions ran high and some of the senior players had to wipe away tears as the trophy was lifted high. The Internet highway was a blaze with posts and when the team arrived near Vergennes, they were greeted by the Police and Fire Departments and well wishers with a champion parade including sirens, music and lights. While the merriment will continue for some time, the statistics remain that while this team has joined the ranks of VUHS state champions, they have secured their spot in VUHS sports history with the most wins for any team. Congratulations Commodores!
