Betty Christian Burke

ORWELL: Betty Christian Burke, age 40, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at her home.  Betty was born October 22, 1971 in Rutland, the daughter of Rollin Francis and Marion (Bailey) Christian.  She spent most of her life in Orwell and Fair Haven and was a graduate of Fair Haven High School.  She had been employed at the Ellison Corporation in N. Clarendon.  Her outside interests included membership in a recreational softball league in Rutland, scrapbooking, camping and volunteering as a Cub Scout leader.

    Betty is survived by a son, Patrick Burke, Fair Haven, 3 brothers, Edward Christian and Alan Christian, both of Orwell and Bruce Christian, Rutland, a sister Carol Lolatte, Brattleboro, nieces and nephews.

    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Paul’s Church in Orwell.  Reverend Michael Kelley was the celebrant.  Burial followed the Mass in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell.

    Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund to benefit Patrick Burke, with checks made payable to Merchants Bank and forwarded to 97 Main St., Fair Haven, 05743.
