Obituaries 7-24-12 Arnold John (A.J.) LaRockFORESTDALE:Arnold John (A.J.) LaRock, age 70, died Monday, July 16, 2012. He was the oldest son of the late Arnold J. LaRock Sr. and Phyllis (Bishop) LaRock. Mr. LaRock was born in Richford, Vermont on October 28, 1941, raised in Forest Dale, Vermont, educated in Brandon schools, and graduated from the University of Vermont. Mr. LaRock spent a lengthy career in Vermont as a teacher, principal, and retired as superintendent of schools. Following retirement, Mr. LaRock joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Dept as a dispatcher and deputy sheriff, and later worked as a ranger for the Army Corp of Engineers at Union Village in Thetford, Vermont. Mr. LaRock enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He leaves his constant companion Jake, four children; Lisa Beaulieu, Trevor LaRock, James LaRock, and Elizabeth Lounder, brothers; Ronald LaRock and his wife Susan, David LaRock and his wife Lynn and a sister Pamela LaRock. Six grand-daughters and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. His parents and a brother, Maurice (Moe) LaRock predeceased him. At his request there will be no calling hours, a memorial service, in celebration of his life, will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Forest Dale on July 26, 2012, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers Mr. LaRock requested that friends and relatives feed the birds, visit Silver Lake in Goshen, VT, or hug someone who is lonely. Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
